I can understand why people dislike him for all the reasons listed above but I still like him better than Naruto. Naruto bugs the heck out of me. Oh and Sasuke looks more effiminate than when he was younger. So not cool

Many reasons. (And not just because he's 'emo'.)

First off, in comparison to all the other characters in his age group, he barely makes any development in his character for the better. His character is rather shallow and personality and behavior-wise, I have no idea why Naruto and the others are so determined to rescue him when he obviously has no will to return. He can never appreciate those around him in the beginning who really do care about him while he can only focus on revenge. (Gosh, suck it up!) He really is just a power-hungry person bent on revenge and it just really annoys me how (currently) he just keeps beating all these people that I actually like. Plus, he's just another one of those people you see in manga all the time that are focused on revenge of some sort based on past occurrences. Thus, I don't understand why his whole presence is so popular with many people when he's this sort of character. (In addition, he really isn't all that good-looking.)

Mind you, I never hated him right away. It just sunk in after I went deeper into the series, I'm guessing like other people. In any case, I'm not really into this series anymore. (The over-hypedness kinda killed it for me.) Hah...this has to be the longest post I've ever written. 😐

There's a lot of small Team 7 missions that Kishimoto just doesn't draw. But we can probably assume that it's during those missions that Naruto and Sakura become good friends with him.

Personally, I don't hate him. I can relate to him somewhat, with the working towards a goal part. It's probably because of his goal that his character doesn't change. He himself doesn't let it change. And people usually look down upon stubbornness.

I loves me some Sasuke, but just his adorable little asian body.

He's too angsty and emo. D: and vengeful. And hes scummy. Friendship pwns Revenge in a battle.

He has duck butt hair too

He's not emo, that's just stupid.
However, he is a little bitch. He is never happy with anything, no matter what he accomplishes. He's a spoiled brat in the way that he always tries to get whatever he wants, whenever he wants, stepping all over anyone who gets in his way.

He takes the easy way out. I'm positive that he could have become stronger if he tried hard enough in the village. But no, he betrays everyone to achieve his stupid single-minded goal, when he had no plan for afterwards.

I actually really liked him in the beginning. He was great. A little bitchy still, but I loved him all the same (he's never been one of my FAVOURITES, though). He was actually really friendly and protective of Naruto and Sakura, which is another thing that makes him such an ass for just leaving them like that.

Ahh, I don't feel like ranting anymore. Haha, that's enough for now.

I'm a Sasuke hater. You know why? He is one of THE MOST annoying anime characters known to man kind. If he was taken out, I would probably consider watching Naruto once again.

(Yes, I'm breaking my own rules about 1 word posts)

I agree on that but other reasons make me hate Sasuke so much. But....I love him at the same time 🤣 It's unfair he's one of the hot guys in Naruto (as well as Kakashi and Naruto) so of course I like him for that but him always remorsing about the past and saying he's an avenger is pretty stupid. Then he leaves and joins Oro (who is like MJ in a creepy way). I started hating him after he uses Chidori against Naruto and becomes all serious and seeks the easy way out.

The only reason I still can tolerate his stupid actions and watch Naruto is because throughout the whole anime I'm pairing him off with Naruto and carefully monitoring anything that may hint to that pairing 🤣 Leave it to my yaoi mind to make me like Sasuke a little. Naruto's determination in rescuing Sasuke is like whoa very deep you think there's something more than friendship. Nah, I think it's just my imagination of boy love.
If it weren't for that: I would ABSOLUTELY hate him.

I don't really hate Sasuke... I just find him annoying. He easily gets 'brainwashed'... which is pitiful

first orochimaru now madara... T_T not to mention he's selfish and bratty. He is also so pessimistic that it annoys me. He only dwells on the bad things done to 'him' and only thinks about 'himself'.

At the beginning, I actually liked Sasuke. I thought his character would develop more... but behold! some 400 chapters later... he's still the same... >_>

that can be said about couple characters in Naruto, not just about sasuke. sadly that is one of the limitations that Kishimoto has.

Could he be considered Emo?

He’s not constantly lamenting himself or writing poetry; instead he trains and fights to archive his goals.

He doesn’t try to kill himself, he kills his enemies.

If he doesn’t have close friends, is because he is afraid that Itachi might kill all of his loved ones….again…

I think that Emo are more passive people, and Sasuke is a really active character.

i don't think it's as simple as being emo as everyone would put it. his character is best described as immature. throughout the series he's shown pretty much unwillingness to grow up emotionally as well as physically. hence it leads people to think along the lines that he's to easily manipulated and immature. since if you look at how his path has moved he's shown nothing but that. even Naruto has shown more emotional growth than him, even though he's spouts the same thing all the time to Sakura and such about returning him. but other than that, Sasuke remains to much of a baby compared to the rest. Itachi kind of put it best in words in the resent chapters when he was discussing about him.

true enough but Sasuke is the only one who's actually remained the same out of all of them. he's been playing the same tune so to say since the beginning, the only time i've seen him actually showing some growth was actually during the exams and during the fight with Gaara. only after that he's reverted from growing up to turning back into a kid.

people hate Sasuke cuz there's an enormous amount of his c*cksuckers around the world, thus the haters are a reactionary counterexistence to his lurvers.
