Hmm I really used to hate him, he was just so angst ridden I guess. Yeah his past is really messed up but his line of reasoning is just bad. My family was killed so I'm going to stop living life and devote it to killing my brother/murderer of clan.

i think his reasoning is better than most ppl. alot og ppl want revenge and power so they won't feel so weak. lol if you look back there were ppl who betrayed each other for alot less. so don't go bashing him about his reasonings. all your excuses for hating sasuke are crazy lol. why hate him, really? i think you guys hate him because he turned into a bad guy. i guess everyone roots on the good guys. but i bet if he would have went back to repent for his sins you guys would all be over him.

i personally don't like him, then again, i'm the guy who would run around with an _______(insert tool of death) solving our emo problem if it weren't for those pesky 'laws'. Sure, i'd be pissed off and prbly want to kill the guy who did my family in. But the whole 'i live only to kill my brother!' or 'I'm not going to kill you, there's only one guy i want to kill: my brother!' kinda mentality is very weak sause in my opinion. Read McBeth or something; you know where people like that usually end up in: our processed meat/tofu.

I disagree with that, I actually root for Itachi a lot more than Sasuke, being a bad guy doesn't change the way I view a character. I've always hated Sasuke, mostly because of his personality, and that he's overly powerful, though that may just be that I don't really like the sharingan anyway. Even if Sasuke were to "repent" I still wouldn't like him (it would also be way too cliche if he were to do that) Leaving his country just to take advantage and train himself was about the only thing I did like about Sasuke.

P.S. He also bugs me because the character is TOO much like Kurapica from HXH

Personally, it's not so much as him being a "bad guy" (which is quite questionable given the events of the past couple of volumes or so), it's more so about him being a traitor to his comrades (ie. Konoha). And he did so by willingly turning to one of Konoha's greatest enemies who can be held responsible for who knows how many deaths (including the Sandaime Hokage). His reasons for doing so may justify his actions to some extent, but my reasons for not liking his character don't end there. For one thing, his re-entrance into the manga has symbolized the point where Naruto has turned to crap. Everything up to that point has been awesome. But suddenly here comes Sasuke pwning everyone and everything left and right, including the characters that are supposed to be some of the strongest in the Naruto universe. Which brings me to my other reason for not liking his character: he's too &%$#ing strong. Not only does he have the ultimate tool of the Naruto universe (ie. Sharingan), he's even displayed as a %$#*ing pacificist a la Himura Kenshin and Vash the Stampede. At least they can bleed and have scars. I have yet to see Sasuke bleed. All I have to say is WTF? A lot of people say that Naruto pre-timeskip is superior to Naruto post-timeskip. I'm going to be more specific and just say that everything before Sasuke returns is awesome, a majority of the stuff afterwards is crap. Granted, most of this I blame on Kishimoto, but w/e. Sasuke is just a symbol for all that. Another thing about him is his attitude. There are those that show a confidence in their abilities and those that are just cocky SOB's. Sasuke is a cocky SOB ever since he learned chidori. And he is a sore loser, especially when Naruto showed a display of strength greater than his own (tajuu kage bunshin no jutsu, rasengan). Thus he is forced to either gain strength or prove his strength (ex: why he agreed to the full awakening of the CS after seeing 4 of the sound 5 in action, his battle on the hospital rooftop w/ Naruto, his attitude when Itachi showed more interest in Naruto/kyuubi than him).

Sasuke owns 😁 .Even if many people hate Sasuke it doesn't matter becuse he always wins the japanese populare character contest, with Sasuke in first place and Naruto in fith.On the side note Masashi Kishimoto said he loves Sasuke but becuse of it it is also the hardest character to draw 😃 Sorry for the bad spelling 🤨

Anyways, he's not exactly a likable, charismatic person. But he is deep, rich, mysterious. I guess that it could be a cultural difference as well. Westerners admire the kind, outgoing type while the Japanese admire the person that struggles for a goal.

Because he's a dumbass and the Kishi loves him so much, that it hurts. He ruined the later half of Part II; which just turned into a "sasuke-fanboy circlejerk" (quote from a friend of mine).
But it's not just that, there are many (including me), who disliked or hated him from the start. That was because he was unoriginal, emo and even though he had a plain face and a duckbutt hairstyle he was dubbed as a bishonen... which he's clearly not. Haku for example, was the closest thing to a bishonen he drew (as per se, a Bishonen in the meaning of a beautiful, feminine boy). He doesn't even look that good, especially compared like to other (non-feminie but definatley supposed to good looking) characters, like Aizen Sousuke after his restyle.
But the looks are the smallest problem with Sasuke... Its mostly his dispise-able character and the way he is overrated by the fandom AND (even worse) Kishimoto.
