I just read pom the panda, present and ... (crap, I lost the name already... it's the one where the student has a disease where his skin is turning to dirt, and the nurse falls in love with him despite his imminent death). So, I'm really digging these short tearjerkers.

Also, I don't want shoujo... just because I've only read one good author that does oneshots and falls under shoujo, and that was till dawn's mangaka. Every other shoujo tragedy oneshot seems to bore the crap out of me...

(Also, I openly admit I cried for Pom...)

Hotarubi no Mori E The second story mostly. One of my all time favorites.
Yume Kurai
Kimi ni Shika Kikoenai One volume oneshot, but COMPLETELY worth it.
Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan Again, one volume, but made me cry super hard.

Sorry, I just noticed you didn't want shoujo, but check these out, they are really good. The last two do not have a shoujo tag on them, but I would say they fall under the "romance" category.

Awww man, you read all of NAKAMURA Asumiko's drama one-shots?!

Hmm... what to suggest...
YUMEKA Sumomo is the queen of tragedy... She writes well too... I mean, I even cried for Kimi wa Boku no Taiyou, and that's not even tragic!! Last story in Nanairo Sekai made me cry buckets too (even though it's categorized as shoujo).

Not Simple -- how much crap can a guy handle?! Seriously...

Lets see... I've read Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan, and Kimi ni Shika Kikoenai . And pretty much 90% of these are shoujo. Not Simple seems to be the only other one that looks like it might be interesting, I'll check it out, thanks.

Seconding Yumeka Sumomo.
Boku wa Sakana & Hoshi no Koe are good.

Hitori-tachi - definitely tragic and heartwarming. Even though it's shoujo...

I definitely second Hotel.

I second Hitoritachi/Forever Honey. Hmm, it's labeled as shoujo, but I think it can just as easily be called seinen.

Half & Half

Zoo (Novel) - some of the short stories, like:
In a Falling Airplane - A boy hijacks an airplane, and a passenger who was on her way to kill someone in revenge, contemplates taking her life.
So-Far - A little boy is stuck in between alternate worlds, one where his mother is alive and his father dead, and one where his father is alive and his mother dead. He becomes the bond between the two so they can continue being a happy family.
Song of the Sunny Spot - A man creates an android to take care of him in his final days, and the android learns what it means to live.

I don't know if you will like it, but try "The Flower That Blooms In You" in the manga Kono Koi wo Wasurenai.
