Hi all,
I know I said I tend toward shoujo in another post, but I do really like the Bleach anime (actually I don't have very many shoujo anime 😕 ).
Anyways, I really like alot of the music as well and would like to purchase a CD or two or three ($$$ pending - need to pay bills first). I can find Bleach OST 1 at a few places, but haven't really seen OST 2 or other tracks. I did check Amazon.com and they had some imported CD for like $40-$50?? Is Bleach OST 1 the only one available in the US? Is there a reasonably priced place? (actually I haven't checked e-bay yet!)
I may just download the music if nothing else - in this case, is there somewhere I can get appropriate sized case cover art? 😳 I know its my pickiness - if I have a copy I want to make it as real as possible.
Thanks so much.

Usually one has to import soundtracks, but I guess with Bleach all bets are off.

For importing, I've heard a lot about http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/

And for downloading, if you search Nipponsei's tracker list (bottom of tracker page) you should find what you are looking for. http://nipponsei.minglong.org/
(Their torrents usually include the cover art.)

Are you sure you've exhausted your resources if you're looking to buy the official Bleach CDs?

It probably would've been good to check out a big Bleach fan site such as Bleachportal and see if other people have looked into purchasing the CDs online. There's also eBay and smaller auction sites such as Yahoo!. 😀

Thanks for the info Sir Gir and Takiko!
No, I only just poked around a few places - thought someone might have some good ideas. As it turns out, there seems to be a good deal on eBay - OST 1, OST 2, and compilation of the Bleach Beat Collection for somewheres around $19 or so. I'm going to check into that AFTER I do my bills!
Oh, and as far as Torrents and IRC, I don't know anything about these!!!! 😲 I just have crappy dial-up and so far have been able to find enough direct downloads to keep me occupied for a while. It takes days to download one volume!! What kind of connection does anyone else have?

Feel free to fear the complicated-ness of IRC (I use it and it still terrifies me), however bittorrent is nothing anyone can't do. And those soundtracks are only around 70mb or so, so as long as you can keep an internet connection going for about an hour, I image you could download them. (It takes me about 25minutes on DSL)

World's Shortest Bittorent Guide

(1)What's a torrent? It is a small file found on websites that says where on the internet you can find the file you want.

(2)What do you need to download? Internet, torrents, a bittorrent client (such as Bitcomet). The client downloads your files for you using instructions from torrents.

End.

(Although I'm not trying to stop you from buying honestly 🤣 )

I think a fair amount of people end up with broadband or cable internet these days (if people were downloading 1 MB images from Imageshack, wouldn't it take several minutes? 🙁 ), especially if the country is a place like the USA and Canada. Some still stick to dialup, because I know someone that used dialup about two years ago, which to me seemed a bit "behind" at the time. (It seems "painfully slow" to me now. ^^U) I don't know if dialup internet would be better than no internet, or maybe only by a bit. Actually yeah, it'd be the latter because I was on 2 or 11 mbps wireless internet a few weeks ago. I guess you have dialup because it's free or cheaper? Anyhow, I'm dissing dialup maybe too much, since in some parts of the world that's may be all they can get, although I think you're in the USA.

But days to download 30 mbs (what I see to be the average size of a manga volume)? 😲 ^^; If I'm on Lurk, it's could take about anywhere from about maybe 5 minutes to 10 minutes (I can't remember if I go something that was as low as 1 minute, but that might be extreme. Two to three minutes is probably more reasonable). Anyhow, hope you're not too green from envy (or red from anger) about my internet connection. ^^;

Hmm, maybe this isn't the place for talking about downloading and torrents, but I've also heard Bitcomet is maybe too much of a "leeching" torrent client. Maybe µtorrent would be better? Oh yeah, you also forgot that along with downloading the torrent file, one will have to open it in the torrent client (and will have to have space for the entire file that's going to be download). Or maybe that's small potatoes. But that torrent file also has to have seeds or 10 peers or there's no point.

You're right about Bitcomet being leech-happy, however, that makes it ideal for a limited internet connect like dial-up.

The "World's Shortest Bittorent Guide" gives the human-mind a lot of credit. But, I think logic should carry users the rest of the way. (but I guess a part about how bittorrent is dependent on people who share should be added)

Unfortunately, I am green with envy and red with anger (from the slowness). I still live with my parents (I'm a loser) out in the country (which I like) - US - and the only options are dial-up and satellite. Can't afford satellite. Sometimes it is so frustrating that I just don't get on. To clarify about download times - its days just because I can't keep a connection that long (occasionally people might want to call, and then there's the need to be at work!). I only just downloaded a download manager so I could stop and resume big files.
Ahhh ... someday ...
Oh, the download manager is FlashGet. I think I saw something in it about Torrent 😕 It doesn't really have a good help file, though 🙁

Well, because I have nothing better to do I tried that program...and it almost gave me a headache until I realized that torrent support isn't in the 1.73 "classic version" it is only in the 1.82 "latest version". In 1.82 there is a "open torrent file" option in the file menu.

Aaah, I remember the days when I had dial-up, it was so slow that I didn't go on the computer to get something done, I went on the computer for the sake of going the computer. Although now that I think of it, I think it was like, 14.4kbps 😲

Well, I found a torrent link and it appears as though I am downloading Psycho trader Chinami vol 1 & 2 complete. Not sure what I did or am doing, but FlashGet seems to be doing it. Its about 73 Mb so its going to take me forever and ever. It seems to have resume capabilities, and I think there are four peers? Am I supposed to upload something? Is Bittorrent preferable - or not - to direct download?
BTW, I think my direct download speeds are something like 0.5-2.5 kb/s.
Please forgive my lack of computer saviness - I was a little more knowledgable years ago, but of course things have changed alot!

I think there are four peers? Peers are fellow downloaders, and Seeds are people with the complete file who are only uploading.

Am I supposed to upload something? The program should be taking care of this (unless uploading is turned-off by your program), but the idea is that you can't download if you never upload (counter is separate for every torrent). But hey, if it works, it works.

BTW, I think my direct download speeds are something like 0.5-2.5 kb/s. They tie, you can only download as fast as your internet connection is.

Please forgive my lack of computer saviness - I was a little more knowledgable years ago, but of course things have changed alot! No, problem, I enjoy doing tech-support. Makes me feel smart I guess. 😛

Thanks Sir Gir 🙂
I don't think I have anything turned off for uploading; its just the "upload" column for the torrent says zero. Maybe I just don't have enough to upload 😢
Feeling smart is a good feeling, glad I could help 😀

I second buying from cdjapan.co.jp :3 I get nearly all my J-pop/etc CDs that way.

I'll even give you this~ Not everything on that page is related to the anime, but it's good enough. 😀

Thanks Talec Arashi,
I have already purchased Bleach OST 1 & 2, as well as a compilation of the Bleach Beat Sessions. It was about ~$20 or so. I thought that was a decent price and all work and aren't copies! Now all I need to do is download all the Opening and closing songs and make myself a compilation CD. I don't really want to invest in a bunch of singles.
