I may be losing my mind, but I could have sworn that one time I read a summary for a manga that had a plot very similar to the Korean drama "You're Beautiful." A girl pretends to be a guy to take her brother's place as a singer in a rock group. I'm positive I stumbled across a manga with that plot, but I can't find it again. Any help is appreciated!

The closest I can think of is Teppen!. Rather than pretending to be her brother, she's more so looking for her brother and she's in a duo rather than a rock band, I guess.

More like leader of a rebellion rather than a rock group, but there is Basara.

Thanks! Basara isn't the one I'm looking for because I know the summary I read was about a rock/idol group. Teppen sounds close, but I'm pretty sure the sister takes over for her brother in the group. In any case, Teppen sounds like a good story so I'm going to read it.

Oh, god, I think I know what manga you're talking about. I just have no idea what it's called. -.-; But I'm pretty sure it's not your imagination! I'll see if I can figure it out.

Thanks! I want to say that the brother gets sick or loses his voice - but I may just be confusing it with the drama. I absolutely loved You're Beautiful, so I was hoping to find this manga to read since it was so similar.

I already thought the summary was so familiar, now I know why: because I read a manga about it!!
but I really can't remember the name of the manga because it must have been at least more than a year ago I read it which is before I had this account probably 🙁

Hrm, I'm almost positive it's Koutei Gentei you're looking for—it seems similar to the drama's concept with the whole "twin" and "idol" thing ('cept instead of music, it's modeling); unfortunately, there aren't any releases as of yet, so I don't know. (o n o; )

Yes, it's certainly Koutei Gentei. It's even categorized as 'adapted to kdama,' so there's no mistake.

It says the manga was first published in 2010. You're Beautiful came before, in 2009. Whatever kdrama the manga might have been adapted to, it couldn't have been You're Beautiful.
