Piano's my forte, but I've also played violin and guitar over the years. What I'm really good at, though, are games... like timing your chromatics (middle C to the top and down again, I would've broken my record if I hadn't skipped one note by accident!) or seeing how many notes, on flashcards, you can read in a minute (I'm still in a good mood from getting 90 this week). But I totally wouldn't try a chromatic scale on anything other than a piano. I haven't played violin or guitar in ages, so it'd be suicide, to say the least.

Piano's my forte.
Am I the only one who sees the irony of that statement?
Also, chromatic scales on a guitar are incredibly easy. I, however, do not use them, ever, because I play blues. I live within my pentatonic scales with an occasional flatted fifth. Some times I throw in a natural major/minor scale for the lulz.
Kudos on sight reading though. I suck at it, mainly because I play blues, where sight reading is not needed.

Lucky. Well, at least it gives me a way to measure myself. And I totally didn't notice the piano thing until you mentioned it - I need to start thinking in English again!! Or maybe learn Italian. Then I won't automatically use the French meaning of a word. But then again, unintentional puns are always the most fun...
Even if chromatics are easy, I'm so totally used to doing them on a piano that I most likely wouldn't have the right dexterity. That and I haven't touched a guitar in about four years, so I think it's safe to say I'm beyond rusty.

Like I said, pentatonic for the win. With the occasional flatted fifth in there, just for kicks.

Not at all. Well.. sorta... I suppose.
I took guitar lessons, but after three weeks of glaring and sneering at the teacher, I finally stopped taking them. I never wanted to take them to start with; I just took them because my sister wanted to and my mom always makes us take things together. I can play a cord or two now.
I can play a song on the piano, but I was never really motivated to learn anymore. The keyboard is my piano. XD

Piano - 13 years
Guitar/Bass/Banjo - 9 years
Harp - 6 years
Harmonica - 4 years
Drums - 2 years
I only took one year of sax, so I won't include it.
I'm also insanely amazing with the triangle. My main advice for mastering this complicated instrument? Hit it... with a stick.
Edit: Forgot the fiddle, but that's for when I'm visiting the crew down in the Maritimes and I've a few shots of scotch in me.
It's psychosomatic. You need a lobotomy. I'll get a saw.
You gonna do somethin'? Or are you just gonna stand there and bleed?

Did anybody say the triangle yet. Seriously, I'm one of those people who mindlessly beat on it when i get bored. Try walking around the house real slow and making a "ding" every 3 steps you take.
