Hello there.

I want to form a new BL scanlation group..problem is the language barrier. If anybody would like to form a new group with me, please leave a comment or message me.

I particularly would like to scanlate Miss Yamada D Yonezou [Nekota Yonezou]'s works, but I am up for any BL mangakas.

There is no website or even a name yet, I can't create a dead website. That would only be a waste of space on the net.

Anyways, I hope to hear from you soon!
I need all the help I can get.

I know it's going to be pretty rough to start up something new especially without a translator to begin with..

Concerning those 3 questions..
I do have minimal experience of being in a group...though not much. As for time, I have plenty of. If I want to start something, I would only want to do so knowing I can put apart enough time to keep things going smoothly. But as for the translator, I do not have one..

Having a translator is rather important, I know..but all I can really do is wait it out and see what happens. Hopefully it's for the best.

Thank you for the comment though.

not to discourage you or anything, but it's kinda hard to start a group without a translator you know is going to stay and translate. Cause if you lack editors, well you can still edit, not great but you can. However if you got no translator, it's not like you can learn a new language by tomorrow.

I know you're only trying to help. I won't take it too discouragingly.
I agree, without having a translator, all is pretty much lost to begin with. But I'm going to wait it out and maybe I'll get lucky and a translator will come along. Though that seems highly unlikely, there's no harm in hoping right? I'm gonna do my part to look for a decent translator, but until then...we'll see what happens.

Thank you for the take on this. If things goes as plan, I will definitely message you. ^^

It is a bit, but still, having the truth thrown at you is a bit easier to handle then just simple sugar coating right? :3

Well, if you do find a translator, I'd be interested in helping. I can work as a scanner, proofread and, if nobody else comes along, a cleaner. I'm still a beginner when it comes to cleaning, but I can do the basics.

Some tips though: Try Chinese->English translators. They are usually easier to find than sticking to Japanese->English. You can confirm with the Japanese RAW yourself.

Go learn Hiragna, Katakana or print a chart out to check. Use JDICT to see the definition for some gutting parts. If you have experience with looking up Kanji, that's a big bonus. You should also use Tae Kim's Japanese grammar guide to understand some basic expression in Japanese.

Meanwhile, work on your editing and typesetting skills and go around hunting for good RAW. A leader of a new group isn't something you can do for fun. It comes with responsibilities. You also shouldn't aim for too much speed, but rather try working and improve your quality bit by bit.

So good luck, if you need some help or guidance, don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you for all the tips.

Actually I don't know what mangas are currently available in Chinese...but I will definitely find out when asking for a Chinese translator. I do agree with you that it would be easier.

A leader would have a lot of responsibilities, that I'm sure of. Doing something on a whim really isn't fair to fans who are looking for scans. Speed is a nice bonus, though of course, you are right..quality is much more important than quantity.

I will keep in mind if anything arises. Thank you for all your help ^^

Starting a group isn't hard, don't be fooled. If one person is interested then law of averages says that there will be more. Just in the mean time get some practice by going to mangahelpers or sites like that, download the raws and translations of any series they have to offer that you're interested in and get some practice. Make a credits page seeking translators for the style of manga you want to do, lurk around for raws or order some from whatever country. And lurk/advertise on forums with the same theme of manga you want to do and ask for help. You can also advertise for help on sites like mangahelpers(they have a specific section for it). I'm part of two groups and freelance when the help is needed. Unfortunetly I don't like the genre you're interested, but thousands of people are. So just scout around and you will get help. Just be good at communication, explain what you want, where you stand, and name what you're doing to fix any problems you may have (such as practicing editing/cleaning). And by the way, unless you plan on inserting english text in place of sound effects, you don't really need an editor, Just need a cleaner that can re-draw on occasion. There are about a million different quides for cleaning/editing, heres a link that does a good job of covering the basics [url]http://sen.monkey-pirate.com/t_edit.html[url]
Just practice with photoshop or whatever program you might be using. Do a couple pages a day to the point where they are good, and you will be ready in no time. If you have any questions let me know. But don't be fooled. It's not hard. Just might take some time.

ok, count me in 🤣 🤣
I love BL, & I especially love Nekota Yonezou's works 😳

I can help proofread, QC, scan, edit[typeset] & cleaning if needed, though I usually leave the cleaning to someone else since I'm not that experienced >:-(

I hope a translator comes along XD

Why don't you propose it to some groups and offer your hep instead? You need to buy books or someone offer to scan for you. LOL~ time is important, but also, you need money to some aspect. Then if your translator poof somewhere, and no one carry on to translate~ it'd be tough sometimes~

Good luck though~

Hi. I see that you want to do Nekota Yonezoh...do you have something in mind? Because I believe all of her current works are being scanlated already. If you're thinking of her doujinshi, most of those are either done or are in the process of being done.

Instead of opening your own group, perhaps just join one that's already around and doing projects?
