Well, that is very much the predecessor of Ichigos final (for now) hollow form. Some of the other stuff is close and the hole location "should" be a coincidence since it was basically chosen and made by Ulquiorra in Ichigos case, but the shape of the horns is 100% identical and it shot the Cero from between them.

What the connection is exactly can be debated from here to eternity (or until properly explained), but I doubt anyone in their right mind could deny that there must be some connection.

I think if there is some kind of connection then it isn't a he reincarnated or spiritual connection. I think it may be something that aizen or urahara does that links them.

It just seems a bit far fetched. though nothing is really impossible at this stage. I just don't see how they could integrate something like that. Also, what exactly have they done to that apparently Vasto Lorde level hollow? Was it a hollow they put some kind of shinigami material in, or was it shinigami material that they hollowfied?

I wonder why Aizen moved so quickly. I would have thought he'd want to see more combat to gauge the potential of whatever it is they had constructed. Unless of course they know it can't stand up to a captain once they have released their zanpakuto, and don't want it being investigated.

Now I guess the question is, who defeats it? Masaki? It definitely didn't sound like she had much in the way of control of her power, so I would guess Ryuuken takes it out.

Don't you just love Aizen? He is the explanation for everything and actually pushes the plot.

My guess is Aizen moved so quickly because that "Hollow" might be the only prototype of the Arrancar and it can not stand up to a Captain. Hence his concern that a captain showed up. They were probably testing it on low level Shinigami. Isshin would have killed it and possibly destroyed the Arrancar project.

Maybe Masaki could defeat it because Aizen turned Isshin into a host for the project and left just an empty shell for Masaki to destroy. That would explain the connection between Ichigo and the shape of the hollow as well as Aizen interest in Ichigo later on.

It even possible that Masaki never killed the hollow, but Aizen only made it appear like she did. HIs own Zanpakuto skill would not work on her, but I'm sure it is well within Aizen's skill to make it look like the hollow died since their bodies disappear when they are killed anyway.

He probably moved fast because they moved into the 13th's territory. He will probably frame isshin with the death of the other shinigami and because everyone is too stupid to realize that he is lying they will strip him of his power and send him to the land of the living to die.

I'm going to assume this is 531...
Quick question. For this entire volume, why is the cover a picture of a guy that pathetically died due to a copy of a quincy after using awesome moves such as necromancy? Didn't he die like x number of chapters ago? Why does anyone still care about him 😕

What kind of a question is that anyway? People still care about Shiba Kaien who was dead before the chronological beginning of the series...

Also, who knows? Maybe that particular volume covers the chapters in which said guy was featured pretty damn heavily, including his use of awesome moves such as necromancy?

I still think Ryuuken drives it off, or something. Now we get to see the back story of Masaki and Isshin, and how Aizen is going to handle this all.

However, there is one thing that I have always wondered about Aizen's "absolute hypnosis". He calls it control of all the senses and what not, but from what I've seen, it only seems to involve HIM. I admit it's been a while, but has there been a time when it was used in a way other than fooling others regarding his location, status, etc? It seems like most of the time it's a dummy version of him, and he even says things about how it can be detected. Is the limit of the hypnosis controlled by his own ability to mimic himself? If it was as great as he always talked about, he should have been able to make anyone see anything, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

@animephreak During the battle at Katakura town, Aizen used his power to make the captians and vizards fight each other. So he canuse it on more then himself.

Actually, the above example is half wrong since there the illusions mostly involved Aizen in one way or another. He did prevent all others from hearing Ichigo though. It was implied that he was shouting about them going to 'eff up Hinamori but nobody heard him because of the hypnosis.

Better example is what happened with Baraggan, with him being taken in for quite the ride with the ability. Something along the lines of Aizen hiding Tousen and Gin from sight while they whooped the asses of Barragans minions.
