My question about Mangaupdates!

I have a question for the admins or moderators, I mean with all the stuff happening in the manga world of scanlators, the so called "War on online Manga" etc etc. Im not sure if it has bin brought up before, because I dont often visit the forums, but since Mangaupdates is my main source of information about up to current events on what series or chapter are being released.
Would you guys say that Mangaupdates is hanging on a thread or is it at its all time high like always? Because with all the major sites going down like One manga, and alot of scanning groups are shivering, some disbanding. Would you say that by publishing rights, they are allowed to shut down this site?

Im pretty sure its ok for the site now. There was some issues some time back relating to direct download links (wich were removed) and acces to Lollicon material (alterations were made).
So far the site provides information on Manga series, which is totally legal in every way, and scanlation release information. Since nothing is directly provided on this site I dont think there is sufficent reason to shut down or threaten the site.
Then again Im not entierly sure as to what is going on, could be that things are looking bad, but I doubt it.

We'll try to stay around for as long as possible though.
At the very least, if they do decide to shut MU down, it would only be the release page that'll be affected. Nothing wrong with keeping a Database, forums and all the other features is there?
But seriously, I really hope they don't.
Its always been my hope that if anything did happen to us we could export the series database and information and pass it along for the next generation of websites.
Hell, we put a lot of time and effort in to it, might aswell give someone else a giant head start, right?

Other then the releases page there is no way for them to be shut down.
Even with the releases MU doesn't host updates so there is really 100% no reason for it to be shut down. It's a library/search engine.
