Not eternal, but I wouldn't mind living... I don't know~ 1000 years?
Or less...
Living forever will eventually become boring... But I guess you can kill yourself then, when you've had enough...

Also, every friend/lover you'll ever have will die after some time...
It will break most people...
That's why having someone who will live this life with you could be nice...

It's strange that IRL, people rather NOT have an immortal life.

But in fiction, loads of characters will do Anything for Immortality.

It's not strange!! I think nobody like to see their love ones dying, probably They try to kill themself, but obviously They won't make it 🤢

I think this is because the OP phased it wrong.
Eternal means forever. I don't think anyone would like to be completely indestructible because after humanity dies out or Earth explodes or w.e, it would get pretty darn boring if you were to just drift around in space without the possibility to do anything at all. That would be hell...

On the other hand if there were DBZ superpowers included, then it wouldn't be so boring. Most people I think would want "biological imortality" which means that you don't age,can regenerate, etc. but can still be killed with a big enough explosion.

being alone for eternity isnt fun, its hell.

^^ agreed.
It would be interesting to see how the world changes but I wouldn't want to see everyone else die eventually.

i wouldnt mind immortality if i never aged past my body's peak development, and could only die by non-natural means, however, i would not like eternal life because eternal means for all time means that your life would never end no matter what happens.

I wouldn't want total immortality. I mean, it would be interesting to see what path humanity goes down, but i mean if i could never die ever! Then i'd still be there when the earth comes too close to the sun and burns up/destroyed by a meteor or whatever. Then i'd be pretty lonely and bored. Maybe chosing when i could die would be pretty cool (and not aging after 25 or so).

Eternal life scares me but I wouldn't decline the offer. Death is also eternal and it also scares me, so why not choosing consciousness over a endless blackout?

But yeah, I would be satisfied with a longer lifespan and some extra-long youth-time as well >.>

well.. if it's JUST an eternal life, then no.. cuz... my leg fall off cuz the muscle is too old, and i still can't die, damn it's painful. watch death becomes us to get my point..

BUT, if it's eternal life AND eternal youth, i'm all up for it.
why? i have my loved ones, and i'll get devastated.. but i'll move on.always do and will stay that way.

yea it will get boring living. but hey, i'm bored since the last 2 weeks, but you don't see me hanging my neck. cuz there's always "tomorrow". and.. i'm curious about what happen when there is no "tomorrow".

let just say.. curiosity of, what will happen in the next 100 years, or thousand years. what will become of earth, and her child. what humanity will evolve into. do they even survive. and a lot more question that can't be answered in a simple short lifetime.

oh.. and i get to bang girls. that's a plus right there.. j/k

..::edit::..

oh.. and after the universe collapse, and i'm the only one alive, floating in the endless void, sure i'll wish i can die. but hey.. maybe there will be a new beginning for a new universe after that. and i get to relive it all over again. if not.. oh hell

Nope. I don't even wanna live till I'm 80. Age and time scares me far more than death. Even with eternal youth I wouldn't want it. I'm barely strong enough to live one lifetime of tragedies; if I lived 100+ years I'd either go mad or I'd grow so cynical and apathetic to the world (even more so than now) that life would be colourless.

it's because in reality people want to sound cool saying "i don't want to be immortal"
and for those who say that all your beloved one will die before you so it's sad to be immortal, don't forget that even without immortality most of your family will die before you and some of your friend too so it's not really the probleme of immortality.

for me i would love to be immortal, no reason just i don't want to die, ever, being able to look what humanity become or doing thing like reading everything that can be read and learning everything that could be learned is my dream.

Sure, why not. As long as I can have sex, and eat, I wouldn't mind. I think it would be nice to watch the earth slowly degrade into a grody cesspool of absolute desolation.
