in a previous poll about honorifics i commented in it because i was passionate about the subject. but this guy silverado started posting many provoking comments to other's replies. when i posted a more detailed comment he started attacking me next. i was not suggesting to add honorifics to every manga, i was posting against his thought that all manga needs to be rid of honorifics and other stuff to be perfect. i read sanctuary a political seinen manga. it was not the absence of honorifics rather it's matt thorn's excellent translation skills that made it such a perfect manga. some manga maybe great without honorofics but some need them for it's full potential. an example of honorifics making manga better is death note. the officers call the main character light-kun. it shows that they care about the youngest member working with them. if they just called him light or yagami it shows a slight distrust or indifferent feeling.

also people from different countries are reading manga with or without honorifics, not just the english people. silverado was also being a racist and calling names in caps. he was recently banned from evilempire for being overly rude to the empress and the moderators there.

anyway what i am suggesting is a report button for the polls section and urge the moderators to check the polls section for rule breakers too. he seems to behave in forums but he is crossing the lines when posting in the polls section.

honorifics is part of a hierarchy kind of mentality that [asian and especially japan have] in a way places ppl in diffrent spots for no other reason than to dominate the weak and allwasy have a clear line on who is who and so on

most western countries moves away from this in the late 1800 early 1900
japan never realy evolved when it comes to class system and rules

Did you even read the OP? He/She is talking about reporting people in the comments section of newsposts, where there's currently no way to report whatsoever. If somebody is being abusive they should be reported, no matter what the subject is. Nobody has to argue with them, but if they get away with it then they'll just continue to be a douche.

You finally put it on the forum, eh? I read your original PM from 3 days ago, but I was just hoping you'd drop the issue. For your specific issue, just ignore him. You're getting too heated up over this.

As for having a report button, that's really up to whether the only coder we have wants to do it

it's just that he was being too rude. there are rules against it in this website but he was getting away just because the comment is not in the forums. i was bothered by that name calling day and night. can somebody just remove that particular comment or used words?

maybe it's because i am from a country that takes everything seriously or that i am just depressed. but you must understand that it's not the topic, it's his rude way of all those comments that bothered me. that other guy gringe was arguing but was not crossing any lines. i am afraid that if i comment in the polls section in the future he will come to argue with me like the someway in the honorifics polls section once more.

First of all, being argumentative is not always being rude. I went to read up on your so-called "insults" that you were receiving, and to be very honest, they didn't seem very offensive or abusive to me. He wasn't "getting away with it" because it wasn't in the forums. He didn't get any punishment because he didn't do anything so wrong that he deserved punishment. Is removing the comment going to make you feel any better? Do you go back to read what he said to you over and over again? You're better off just getting over it, this is the internet ffs.
