Good day. I’m new to manga scanlation. I translate manga and some fanart in my free time. I enjoy translating them and sharing with friends. It feels excited that you translate and then share with friends from other countries speaking different languages!
Recently, I start using PicPaw to translate manga. I don’t want to pay expensive Photoshop actually. The translation tool includes a complete set of applicable photography tools.
There are basically only two steps.
Step 1, Clean out the original text. It is like ‘Stamp’ in Photoshop.
Step 2, Translate. It combines OCR, auto-translation and post-editing. I can also adjust the color, size, and font of the translation later.
If you are a Photoshop-dumb or probably like me not willing to pay the high fee, you may try PicPaw.com

I would assume a lot of scanlators are using the Special 100% Discount Edition of Photoshop.
