A Western (or any other) comic artist (animator, whatever) would never have these kind of references, unless it deals with them on a serious social level - e.g. Transmetropolitan has some pedophilic references, but not because it's some sick nerdish stuff, but because it's created to shove a futuristic dystopia up our consuming asses.

This again? (that is something i hate about the manga community. in general i prefer manga, but i've read some western comics which i've liked as well as manga which i've disliked

Excuse me, but just because you like manga more doesn't mean that's the universal rule. There are lots of quality comics, same as manga, both are good in their way (I consider comics anything from Calvin and Hobbes to Corto Maltese).

And also, to prove you wrong you can just look at what current newspapers publish each day/week. All over the world, it's Comics. Do you really belive that if Manga was THAT good no one would have noticed already? Shouldn't it be in every other newspaper?

      Em, i am not sure deathgod meant that manga were actually better, just that they are more popular nowadays amoung 15 year olds. If i read it again, he didn't say they were better at all.

Anyways you guys and your comics, comics and cool and there in newspapers big woop. Just because their easy to understand, doesnt have hentai in it, and most don't have complex storylines to follow makes them easily readible in a newspaper. That all, does it make comics better ? NO!? Do comics have a shounen jump, a yuri hime, a yaoi yaoi book thingy, or even a Virgin Kankei... I highly doubt that.

Also for those capping on the japanese for being perverted I highly dispise you.. Really that like saying Americans are fat because they love burgers. Although its a problem, its part of American culture, fast food been around for years so of course people got fat. So Japan art perversion began back in those days where hentai were paintings, now that they have no war they gotta focus that energy somewherE!!? whats wrong with being perverted, everyone has their fantasies, there would be no hentai for the anime/manga to enjoy without this.

Manga and anime are mass medias, they are aim toward those who are young and freee, so what if comics have umm superman or spiderman it not reaching nearly as much market as Manga has all over the globe (except for batman hes cool, and spiderman the movie!!! Ahh thats soo awesome)!!! Strawberry Panties and Mizuho-Senseis are a touch to reach those buyers, like me who although doesn't buy mangas highly enjoy those panty shots and would buy the highly intriguing storyline and the bonus fanservices if i had money which I will soon in the far far far away distant future!!!!!!
