I noticed that while using the genre search that there wasn't a way to search for only ongoing series. There is an "Only show completely scanlated manga" but none for ongoing series.

do you think you can add this type of option?

It's technically ongoing if it's not completely scanslated -_-;

Maybe bajuwa meant ongoing in the country of origin?

He probably wants an option to only search for ongoing manga, which we don't have as of yet.

Yeah. I assumed he was talking about ongoing scanslation since he mentioned "completely scanslated"

But his suggestion should also apply that there should also be a search for manga that's completed in country of origin.

There could be completed series that aren't completely scanlated, so no, that isn't the same thing

Show all manga
Only show completely scanlated manga
Only show completed (including oneshots) manga < ---And there is a complete origin option
Only show one shots
Exclude one shots
Only show manga with at least one release
Only show manga with no releases

we have a complete origin option, but no ongoing option, which i find weird and highly annoying =/

Edit:
NightSwan and Dr. Love know what I'm talking about 😛

Would it be possible to have a search bar so that we could enter text on the genre search page?

I mean on this page:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?act=genresearch

For example, if I wanted to find doujinshis, without yaoi and shounen ai of a certain series, I can only choose the genres and it gives me a list of like 36 pages. I'd like to be able to reduce that list by searching something like "One Piece" so that I could only get the doujinshis except yaoi and shounen ai of that series.

I've tried to do the genres search getting a result of 36 pages and searching in that result page for One Piece and the Yaoi and Shounen ai just came back.

If its not possible, maybe we could have an option to only search the current result list that we already have.

Thank you

@Fromage, this would be handy indeed,

in the meanwhile you can always do this:

in the genre search choose doujinshis, without yaoi and shounen ai, after it gives you all the results click on the O from the alphabetical line that is located above the results this will reduce the results to those that start from O and then you can reduce it even more by clicking on N in the second alphabetical line that will appear. This will give you all the titles that start from ON and so on up to 3 letters

Something else regarding the genre search, is there a way to list completely scanlated manga titles excluding the oneshots and completed series excluding the oneshots?

Also, I think it would be better if the Type list would be a checklist, so one could potentially choose multiply types.

They could use the same setup as the actual genres like include or exclude a certain type. They could also do that for all the other types of options listed on the search page.

And i'm not sure how you'd search for those either =/

Seconding this as well. I've mentioned this before in another thread but it would be really useful. It'd be great if we had the include and exclude check list for 'extended options', 'type', and 'list options'. :3
