I wonder, why does the scanlated chapter count on Baka-Updates say that today the 174th chapter got released, while that same chapter is 173 elsewhere? Does anybody know anything concrete?

"elsewhere" does not tell me any information to help verify your claim that there is a discrepancy. State were you saw this, and then I might be able to help you.

Also, it's the 164th chapter not 174th. Anyways, it's probably because there was a miscount in the early chapters, because Tripledraw does not label them consecutively.

That discrepancy I was talking about was between BU and Mangafox. Now I didn't know wether or not it was okay to refer to an Online Reader while talking about a scanlation here. So I specifically didn't say where that was.
However, today morning that discrepancy was cleared up in response to my post above (I got an email telling me so) and thus, my question has been answered and the problem resolved.

When I see a large amount of numbers to be computed that are at least 2 digits long, my brain just draws a blank and kinda freezes... xD So I couldn't ever be sure I actually would've gotten that same result you did from that list.

I don't remember mangafox ever listing the chapters of kenji consecutively... they always restarted the chapter count for each volume because that's how tripledraw added it (or Toomin).

if you don't enter the Kenji page itself, but only type 'Kenji' into the searchbar and press enter, you'll see the total number of chapters, not the last released. Until yesterday, that had always been one lower than here, even though the chapters were the same and none missing. Something went wrong and I didn't know where. Had me confused so I asked.^^
