No. I see just as many boys as girls when I go to cons.
Most videos show girls because the girls are more likely to cosplay.

..the guys are the ones taking the pictures. 😀

No I think there are half-half. There's even a manga/anime club (unofficial) in my country and from what I saw there were about the same nr of girls and guys.
But it's true that there are more female cosplayers, hence more pis with girls.

From what I remember at Anime Expo, I think there were more girls... but maybe since more of the girls were cosplaying my mind is totally hazy. Most likely, it's quite even.

Depends on the con. Usually only about fifth or less of the cosplayers are male. At comiket some 70% of the circle organizers are female. Of general attendees it depends on the convention, but when the numbers are about equal the tends to still be a bit more females. Well that's how I see it, these numbers shouldn't be taken as facts (unless they match well enough, in which case it was intentional).

I think it's about even when it comes to gender. I do prefer quality over quantity though.
