I just got an iPad and the first order of business is to find a good manga reader ^_^

So I'd like an opinion from the manga community, do you know any good (preferably free) manga reader for iPad? I want to read my manga scans offline, not streaming mangafox or anything like that. I'm also looking for one that has a good way to transfer the manga files to the iPad.

So far AirComix seems to be the one working for me but I need to download the files through Dropbox... Any suggestions?

You should use ibooks from apple. But you have to convert the manga to pdf files first.

A great one I have is manga storm, such a great ipad app and you can store your favorite manga as well as download them from three different readers online to be on your ipad. Also it will update you when a new chapter is available. [m] 😀

I've been using CloudReader on my Touch

You have a few options:

• [PAID] get mangastorm. just buy it. it's worth it.
• Free zip up ur scans into pdf or cbz and read using stanza. quite acceptable if a bit troublesome. i use domdomsoft for this task.
  ** if you want a more convenient transfer mechanism. you can use calibre and do wifi transfer via stanza.

I use GoodReader (paid) and CloudReader (free), and use iTunes to transfer the files to the iPad.

try to find PocketManga.com. Its free and you can search download as many manga as you want from at least 5 manga site, and you can search the library offline when you want to read. It even keep track of when you stopped and will automatically open the last page you read. It also have the notification function, telling you if there's new chapter released, and downloads it automatically. I've been using it on my tablets for awhile, never have problems. 🙂

^ I use this on my android phone. If it stays consistent with the one I have I couldn't imagine a better reader. Tap zones are available as well as swiping to navigate pages. Ads are barely there in free version(don't show up while a page is up) and paid doesn't cost much. Tech support, automatic new chapter checks, the favorites list, and the download manager are all great. Overall the best manga app I have ever seen.

Just read ur want of offline reading. Mango/pocket manga lets you download easily and quickly. There will be an error every now and then with large downloads so remember to use the repair feature afterwards. I have quite a few of my favorite series(including very very large ones) available for offline reading thanks to this godly app.(also all of these features are in cluded in free... paid only gets rid of the ads... which already aren't bad)

I like using Manga BDR its decent and stable

I've used a lot of different apps and mangastorm is without a doubt the best I've found. It's the easiest to use while reading since it automatically finds the best fit and is really easy to scroll, plus you can set it to read backwards so it's like having a real manga. It remembers where you where last, has notifications, automatic downloads, and lots of other download options. Free it's pretty good, paid it's amazing because it lets you keep track of unlimited series. It's only 2.99 and is one of my most used apps. The only drawback is it doesn't have a few of the really major titles, in which case I use Komik Connect. This one is a little harder to read, like manga rock and all the others, but it comes with this really awesome online feature. I THINK that one was free. Hope this helped. 😀
