Looking for a chillout/instrumental hip-hop album mainly using Jazz samples
Shin-Ski. Perhaps the Shinsight Trio.
Shallow Nights Blurry Moon is pretty good.... Hard to find in the stores, though....
Rob, u might wanna try the Lounge and Chill-out channels on http://www.di.fm/
yeah quite hard to find.... only managed to find Shin-Ski of the Martiangang - Shattered Soul on a Pastel Sky. Which is annoying as after reading their decription on last.fm they seemed quite promising.
Will check out www.di.fm though I am not that big fan of net radio...

Maybe some Nomak and Pismo ... try a Youtube or Wiki search to see if u like them.
You might wanna try Shing02.... not heard much... but what I've heard has been pretty okay.... more hip hop than chillout, though.....

I also have an album suggestion of my own for everyone 🙂 Radio Moscow by Radio Moscow, album was produced by Dan Auerbach(The Black Keys).
Yeah... a mate told me about it recently... gonna check it out when I can.
Much Thanks, Rob.

Listening to some Nomak songs on youtube the best I heard so far are Geisha in Days and One Fist both featuring Pismo. Will try and find the album they are off now 😛
Also managed to find the artists mentioned by lurkerdler earlier 😀

Anyone know any good lo-fi folk-rock type bands. I'm thinking along the lines of elliott smith, neutral milk hotel, or iron and wine?

give Time of Reflect a listen, the girl on that track goes harder than any other emcee on that album.

Mos Def- True Magic

wow, u actually liked that album? not saying its a bad album, its like Mos Def's Kingdom Come.
on another note when the hell is The Estatic gonna come out.
Back on topic.
albums to look out for:
Common - Invincible Summer
Talib Kweli - Prisoner of a conscious, Reflection Eternal 2
Joe Budden - Padded Room
honestly fall & winter '07 was like seasons of pure magic, lets hope '08 can top that.

I don't think it fits exactly into the typer you're looking for.... but you might wanna try Turin Brakes.... just came to mind coz I was listening to their stuff earlier today.

I am basically looking at you, gan17, for suggestions
You may wanna give DJ Cam, Model 500 (G-Funk remixes), and Dubtribe Sound System a try.... Maybe some Deadly Avenger as well.
Try DJ Icey too... but the Florida Breaks style isn't for everyone.... and it's a bit older.
This one's a bit iffy, but you can try searching for remixes of Roots Manuva tracks.
EDIT:
If you like Jazzy Trip-Hop.... check out Koop
I can't believe I forgot about them (smacks head)....

Cool thx for more recommendations 😀 I already listen to DJ Cam, so if the other artists are similar I will probably like them. When I get a chance to listen to them, I tell ya what I thought of them 🙂
Oh and thx lurkerdler. The Shinsight Trio - Shallow Night Blurry Moon was great 😎 really enjoyed once I actually found it 😛

She reminds me of Lady Sovereign which isn't good 😔 For some reason I really don't like Rap with a strong English accent.... It might be just a bias from having to listen to too many shitty grime artists. 😐

My turn....
Currently on a Brit-Indie trip.....
Listening to some of my Doves, South, Guillemots and Athlete albums... mostly stuff that's easy to get into.
Anyone know something similar?.... I want something more feel-good and uplifting, as opposed to something melancholic.
@ Rob1988
This may be a bit hard to find... but Jazzanova have some remixes for MJ Cole tracks... 6 in total... try searching.
If chilled DnB is you're thing... LTJ Bukem has a collection of Herbie Hancock remixes... 4 of em.... but these are even harder to find... even for DJ's.
Going by you're Last.fm list, I don't think anything's gonna beat Shinsight 3 or Nujabes for you.... good luck... and sorry if I wasn't able to help.

I have listened to Jazzanova in the past, will have to have a search for those remixes.
I found 2 of the LTJ Bukem remixes, on my computer lol. I dled his discography a while back when I was listening to a lot of DnB, it has 2 songs called essence of Herbie Hancock 1 & 2.
And sorry can't help you with the brit-indie, I rarely listen to any of that and the bit I do isn't anything I would describe as uplifting. 😛

There's a few Brit Indie bands I know.
You've probably heard of them though.
The Subways and The Sugars. I know there are a few that I'm forgetting, but I just got off work and can't think of any.

Will check them out.
Thanx a bunch, ahoaho.
