How the hell do you people who live in really cold places stand it??

It was -11 F (-24 C, I think) this morning & our high for the day was somewhere around 20 F. This is relatively rare around here; we may have 2-3 days this cold in a "bad" winter - I just can't imagine how people manage in places where it gets this cold often. 🤢 😔

I guess if it gets like this a lot you're just prepared for it & get used to it...?

(My car did start perfectly this morning, which I wasn't sure it would! 😀 )

I think my roomies felt the same way... cause they didn't ask why I came in wearing only one shoe.

I love winter. But I can't wait to go swimming.
And playing in the rain.
Winter rain is no fun since it's usually freezing rain.

Cloudy and cold today o_O

Forever lurking...

I don't know what it was like today, i woke up when it was dark out.
But i do know where I'm from the weather is total crap! Rated in the entire US as one of the cloudiest areas. I feel lucky to get a split of sunshine for a few days straight.
My driveway is entirely iced over. As well as sidewalks and roadways -nod nod-
I watched a school bus struggle this early morning to get up the tiny slope outside my home.
Its freezing enough inside the house. But outside its just worse.
I'm even doubled up on clothing. pajamas with shorts over them with a short sleeve shirt and a thermal shirt over it and two pairs of socks. Cha. And I'm still cold.
I like snow and all, its perty.. But i don't like the cold! 🤢

Right now, (soon) 9 O'clock in the morning, it is -13.8 ºC (7.16 ºF) outside. Cold inside as well. (No heating on) <.<

Its sad when we have to cut our heat to save some money. But worth it i guess. I just miss my heat, without the aide of a blanket. And my heater doesn't help. It goes for like a minute blowing cold air then shuts off. Minutes later doing exact same.

Today within two minutes of being outside my hands weer already freezing. Cold and tingly. The cold is stripping my likingness-ness-ness of winter. ._.

The past 3 days it was 40+ ºC.
So.Freaking.Hot.
Two days ago, my whole suburb and the suburb next to mine blacked out due to power stations overheating.
Over half a million houses o_o

Today was a fine 31 ºC I think. Pretty good since I wasn't sweating bullets.
