The book follows a male child and gets either kidnapped or adopted by a mage. Throughout the story the kid learns magic and martial arts and has a crush on the granddaughter of the pope. The kids name means dumb or something like that. Also the kid has a dagger that is cursed or something. I'll try to answer any questions to the best of my ability.
