Kinda fuzzy here, I've been trying to remember a short story?
Maybe a few chapters/2 volumes max. I dont' know if it's part of a volume of other short stories, or if i't's got it's own title.

About a cat that gets reincarnated as a woman, to spend her limited days/ spend time with a guy she
was attracted to, but before she gets any of that out, he attacks her and turns her into a toy.
He and her end up rescuing her daughter from school kids. I can't think of any other details.

You're amazing, I can think of series I'd prefer but it was driving me mental not being able to remember this one. Truly a life saver.
