Mine was off a bit; it said I want to go out three times a week, but I only said two, HA! My age was right though 🙄 😛 unless I did the math wrong...

I went to this thing at my school once for math and they had something just like it 😲

Seee...

  1. Pick a number between 50 and 100

  2. Add 86

  3. Subtract 100

  4. Add 1

  5. Subtract that result from your original number

And you're supposed to get 13 every time.

...Yeah, this one's a lot simpler, but come on, it was for a group of about 20 middle-schoolers 🙄 😛

Oh, and it's called "The Fire Trick" 🤣

thanks for doing the math on it. It didn't really work for me, because i took the wrong number for if i had my birthday or not.
it just shows, that the best traps can't work on somebody too stupid too fall into it.

Lol bully. But you're not stupid. Oh well ran it's not really complicated math pretty basic stuff O_o Good to know someone thought one of my posts was worth something. I will go study some more and try to reach enlightenment so I can pass on scores of wisdom with every post like Kaioh so graciously does. Until then Sayonara I had a lot of fun here. Goodbye. I'll still be around so Ares pm me still i'll reply. 😀

Lol fun trick but easy system. Doesn't matter what number you start off with as long as you can get it to either 2006 or 2007 (or 3006, ... its 006/007 that maters)

Next year the trick'll work too, just add a 1 to both of those 18th-century numbers 😛

Anyway my 3-digit number was 218. I don't feel like going out to eat now. Sometimes I'm the opposite and then I just want to go out everyday.. but I stop with that once I take a look at my wallet after a few days 😀

Cool trick though, thanx for sharing!

Lol this is a funny way to put this trick:
If you do step 2,3 and in one step:
86-100+1= -13
....you can reformulate the question as:
Subtract your number with 13. Now how much is that number away from your original number? 😀 lol

Worked for me as well, and I started with two numbers (one for the times I actually eat out and 3 for the times I'd like to eat out - wasn't sure which) and it worked both ways.

Don't understant what the "Diner & Restaurant" thing is for. Just start at step 3 and then the answer will be your age without the extra digit.

Not sure if I should post this in your thread but it's similar and I figured I'd just stick it here rather than make a new thread. Someone reminded me of this a little while ago. It's actually pretty old but it's another cool math type trick. It doesn't work on everyone but it does on most people:

Don't scroll down until you're done with step 10.

  1. Pick a number between 1 and 10

  2. Multiply it by 9

  3. Add the digits together

  4. Subtract 5

  5. Find the letter of the alphabet that corresponds to the number you got in step 4. A=1, B=2, C=3, etc

  6. Choose a country whose name starts with the letter from step 5

  7. Take the last letter of the country

  8. Choose an animal that starts with the letter from step 7

  9. Take the last letter of that animal

  10. Choose a fruit that starts with the letter from step 9

    | ----------------------Are you thinking of a kangaroo eating an orange in Denmark?

First time I did this I was like 😲 Naturally there's a logical explanation for it though.

You can also get an iguana eating an apple in Djibouti, and an aardvark eating an kiwi in Dominica and a cow eating an watermelon in Dominican Republic. 😀

Wanna know how it works, if you times a single digit number then add itself together, it will always be 9.

1x9=09, 0+9=9, 9-5=4, 4=D
2x9=18, 1+8=9, 9-5=4, 4=D
3x9=27, 2+7=9, 9-5=4, 4=D
4x9=36, 3+6=9, 9-5=4, 4=D
5x9=45, 4+5=9, 9-5=4, 4=D
6x9=54, 5+4=9, 9-5=4, 4=D
7x9=63, 6+3=9, 9-5=4, 4=D
8x9=72, 7+2=9, 9-5=4, 4=D
9x9=81, 8+1=9, 9-5=4, 4=D
10x9=90, 9+0=9, 9-5=4, 4=D

See the pattern?

Sorry can't help it i'm weak for these kinds of topics. Here's something Try this with two numbers between 11 and 19 it always works 🙂 I was like so why the hell did I memorize 19 times tables? Waste of my time 🙁

Take 15 x 13 for an example.
Always place the larger number of the two on top in your mind.
Then draw the shape of Africa mentally so it covers the 15 and the 3 from the 13 below. Those covered numbers are all you need.
First add 15 + 3 = 18
Add a zero behind it (multiply by 10) to get 180.
Multiply the covered lower 3 x the single digit above it the "5" (3x5= 15)
Add 180 + 15 = 195.

😀

Also this one was einstein's favourite trick:
First, write the number 1089 on a piece of paper, fold it, and hand it to a friend for safekeeping.
Next, ask your friend to write down any three-digit number, emphasizing that the first and last digits must differ by at least two.

After your friend has written down the three-digit number, ask him to reverse it, then subtract the smaller from the larger.
Example: 654 - 456 = 198.

Once this is done, tell your friend to reverse the new number.
Example: 198 becomes 891.

Next ask your friend to add the new number and its reverse together.
Example: 198 + 891 = 1089.
🙂
