why do Manga's get published in french way faster than english?

so why is it that all manga's get published/translated in french lights years faster than English translations? English is the worldwide language yet it lags behind french manga's. Why is that?

I really have no answer as it is a stupid move marketing-wise. However, perhaps the french have a very big manga community that we secretly know nothing of?

The French (and to some extent the Italians) actually have a very far reaching tradition of admiration for and assimilation of Japanese art and culture called "Japonisme." In fact, French and Italian TV aired anime as far back as the early seventies (Lupin, Dragonball, and Captain Tsubasa are classics).

The answer is simple. There is a bigger market for manga in France than in The US or any other english speaking country for that matter.
