How long have you been reading manga for & how many have you read?

You read and finish 5 series a day?
yup, around that much (well last year I did). But these days I'm settling for only 1-2 series a day or anytime I have. I used to have a lot of time in my hand but now i don't. Few years back when I was a avid shoujo/josei/shounen reader. During the summer I would consume insane amounts a day. Thankfully I don't read as much any more
Ah. Ok.
Let's say the average shoujo is 30 chapters with 40 pages. 1200 pages.
Now 6000 pages a day. Extremely possible/Easy, if you're a NEET.
Are/Were you a NEET? <----- This is the whole point of the post.
lol what? no~I'm no a neet. I was a child then, with a lot of time in my hands (it was during the break when this used to happen a lot). An average volume has 4-6 chapter and a series could be 1-2 volumes or 15 volumes. The of majority of manga are about 1-4 volumes, Most of the time it's 1-2 volumes. I also had a severe case of insomnia so I thought "why not read manga instead of lying awake in bed all night". I don't read as much as did before I only read 1-2 series a day maybe in two. Truthfully I don't want to read so much anymore nor do I have the time to. Thoses were crazy days back then...

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"
I really don't believe you.
I do the exact same thing.
I sleep maybe 3-4 hours a day.
The rest is eroge/manga/anime/light novels. I spend 20 hours a day, given, not only on manga, and in half a year I get 200 series done. 12 thousand series? I find that hard to believe.

sigh- goodness I see no reason no lie. it's in the course of 7-8 years~! you say half a year will take you 200 series so 400 a year 400 times 7 equals 2800.
I read most mangas that are about 1-2 volumes long not 15 or 25 volumes long. It takes me about 40-50 minutes to finish about 2 volumes so let say I'm reading for 18 hours which I USED to do 3-5 years ago so thats around 24? volumes and if I read a series thats only consists of 2 vol then it would be that I read 12 series a day.

Hmm. There are series that are only a few chapters, sure.
What I don't understand is how you can read so many series that aren't even catalogued on this site, and you named some specific genres.
Don't feel you have to prove yourself to me, but I think flat out you're lying. Not only are you able to sustain this habit through school without a problem, you spend each and every single day of your life reading manga. If you cut the margin down to 8 thousand I might choose to think that's slightly believable.
Even then, that's a difference of 4 thousand series. Which is hardly a 'little' difference. Even with 4 chapter series that happen to not be catalogued on one of the more extensive sites I have seen.
I don't even know if you understand Japanese, and in the event that you don't, I maintain that I don't believe you at all.
You find all these series online, do you? That's interesting.

it is possible if it´s always 1 or 2 volumes. do you know how many yaoi i can reread o a day? i think in volumes most of us have read more than 6000, but since most of them are part of longer series it appears much shorter in the lists. example: naruto. one title on the reading list, 54 volumes are currently out
Please show me a site or even a download site where I can find 12 thousand series of anything. Try to keep it in shounen/josei and shoujo too ^^. BL is fine. I want to make a bookmark for future reference.
Volumes I'mve read are probably in the thousands yes, even in half a year, but I just can't imagine 12k series in less than a decade without dedicating everything.

sigh- it's hard not to try to prove yourself when someone says "liar liar"
yes I find them all online. I read shoujo/seinen/josei/shounen/yaoi/etc
I roughly estimated using a calculator. So it's not exact I stated that in my first post. I was surprised too when I that that number. I probably had a miscalculation let me re-do it..

OK.
I'm sorry for calling you a liar.
It was mostly to just call you out so I can understand the deth of your love for manga. Of course, I didn't completely believe you, but don't waste yoir time over some random guy on the internet like me.
However, I do think you made a miscalculation unless you really read only 1 volume works.
That does make more sense. 3 years of fanatical reading is not hard to believe. Thanks for the clarification : )

no prob. I found out what i did wrong I was supposed to use 3 years not 7 my bad. so I read basically around 7 series a day for 3 years so that totals to..7665 and
4 years of reading 1-4 series a day so maybe around 2190 so 2690+7665= 10355.. the uncertainty should be +/- 500
okay now that makes more sense
and like shadow sakura I do re-read series many times

I started somewhere around 2006-2007 and I've read around 400 - 500 mangas. Kinda hard to estimate, since I didn't find this site until the early last year and thus, didn't add many of them to my lists.. 🙁

I read since 2 years, and have finished... about 1000 series?
