No, those are called "proofreaders" and "translation checkers."
Editors clean the raw manga, level it, crop and rotate and get rid of the text and also "typeset" English text onto it. :')

PS: If you have a good knowledge in English and are good at pointing out mistakes, please, apply as a Proofreader. When I say you need to be experienced, it doesn't mean you need to have already worked in other Scanlators before, you just need to have a lot of experiences with the English language. (Currently, we don't have any active proofreader, please, apply!)
As for the Typesetter position, you need to read some tutorials and have already downloaded the fonts that are normally used in mangas.
