You forgot the option "None". Don't assume that just because they're bestsellers, everyone likes at least one of them, or the characters.

In fact, I haven't read or watched any of these series (except, like, half a season of the 1st Naruto anime over 10 years ago, and my favourite character was - obviously - Kakashi).

No, a "none" option makes no sense for this poll. The point is to find out, which MC is the most popular among this group. If haven't read any of the series or don't like anyone, you just don't vote.

The only one I've actually read is Slam Dunk, so I chose Sakuragi. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

hmm, none would make sense, if you don't vote the result would be misleading i.e how to determine between someone don't like the poll or if he doesn't like any of the choices. In my case i think all of the given characters are boring (the poll is about the characters and not about the manga's)

I haven't read Detective Conan in a few years, but I always come back to that old friend.

luffy or son goku for me, havent read a few of the manga there and idk about crayon shin chan, kochikame, and golgo 13 because scanlations arent finished,
but i did read like 2 chapters of whats translated of kochikame, and it seems pretty good, if only it was fully translated...

Hanamichi Sakuragi. Now that was easy. No thinking required and an actually good character.

I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.

Hmmm... all shonen. Had to go with the only one I read/watched. Tanjiro from Demon Slayer

The result (Luffy is the most popular amongst this group) would be exactly the same, just with lower percentage values but the same distribution. Therefor the "none" option has no impact on the result and is completely useless.

And how does a "none" option change that? Can you determine whether someone voted "none" because they didn't like the poll or because of the characters? If you don't like either, you can comment here but there's absolutely no reason to add another vote option for this specific poll. Those are the MCs of the top 10 best selling manga, period. There's no room for interpretation or personal preference. You don't like them, you don't vote.

Never really read Kochikame and Golgo, but among the other, Sakuragi is probably my favourite mmm...
His character is more defined and unique at the time compared to the others mmm...

I'm pretty surprised Demon Slayer sold that much. Its manga run is relatively shorter compared to the rest and whilst fun, I never particularly thought it was compelling.
