That's an old shoujo manga, probubly started in the 70s.
I remember reading that it took a very long time to complet it, although it was only 4 volumes long (I think).
The story is about a nun and a boxer.

That was years ago... So I have no clue about the title..

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but it sounds like One Pound Gospel to me though. o_O It has a nun and a boxer, but looking at the genre field of this manga, it isn't shoujo, so yeah...
