Apparently, today, Meep-Scans is closing its doors to the scanlation world. We wish the rest of you well on your endeavors.

In related news, ShoujoMagic, one of the oldest and most esteemed shoujo scanlation groups, will also possibly shut down soon. Visit their site for more details.

Edit: The reason behind the closing of Meep-Scans is the following:
They were sent a Cease and Desist letter from [sitelink=publishers.html?id=44]Daiwon[/sitelink], the legal publisher (in Korea) of most/all of their projects.
Reminder: Scanlators DO operate outside copyright laws. No matter how you justify it, scanlations are illegal (even if the series is not licensed in your country)

Wow, this is ummm sad. Well, hopefully someone comes back and takes their place, but I'm going to miss Meep.

Meep is one of my favorite scanlation groups. i hope some of its members still wish to continue scanlating (that would make it easier to pick up some of their series)

I so hope that someone pics up Aflame Inferno and Immortal Regis. Those are my favorite manhwa.

Wow, nothing was noted in the last chapter of Regis... it just seems super sudden. 🙁 I really liked meep.

I am sorry for the people who read stuff from ShoujoMagic, and while I didn't care about the group, it is sad to see such a huge group go.

We're not closing... we're just going to release the last chapter and maybe we'll just continue doing as we are... Some faggy Korean kid decided to report us to the authorities...

Glad you guys will still release, maybe make like.. shadow releases or something... release only to RSS, or do like Yuki-sama scans when (I think) she, was still around?
I see zero reasoning behind reporting a group, it isn't like meep is stealing all the business away... too many Korean kids decided to read the English scans to save a dollar or so? Yeesh.

Protip: What meep was doing was illegal. Meep got shut down. Life goes on.

Well i heard meep-scans got a C&D from Diawon the korean publishing company that asked them to shut down. man this bad...i like the series done by them...haih...no koraen manhwa(translated) will be in malaysia ever....

It's sad, but each scanlated chapter is a stab to its original publisher and author. So, it's normal for old groups to close down.
I'm just glad, that nobody takes more offensive methods 🙂
