Wahahaha I would say yaoi too but thinking back, there was never a time I dislike it but I thought I hated it. I can't believe myself but after given some thought on this before, I discover that I've probably been a fan since a long time ago. It just lay deep down inside me during my early days of discovering anime/manga. (some people are disturbed by the close skinship of Kaoru and Hikaru in Ouran but I adore it ❤ but I never thought anything of it) Even though I read it, I'm not really crazy-crazy of it. I've a few conditions~
Tragedy is another one. I use to refuse to read it because I really hate sad endings but I'm beginning to slowly pick up stuff with it. The stories can be too awesome to miss.
I'm also paying more attention to seinen haha since I thought seinen is... too 'mature' for me to read it lol yeah, keep in mind that I'm (used to be)reluctant on pretty much genres including shounen and josei. Just look at my lame username =.= Now, I'm reading more shounen preferably with romance~

I used to be quite closed-minded but one day I just became curious...and then I just started reading whatever I saw that interested me.

I disliked shounen-ai before but I think it's alright and somehow I have some kind of appreciation for the characters for following through their own choices based their orientation regardless of the resistance from society, friends, family etc. I never cross the yuri/yaoi/shoujo-ai boundaries for some reason. I never read hentai (for obvious reasons-my age). I also used to hate seinen but I absolutely love it now. It was the opposite for josei- I used to love it but now I just somehow can't tolerate it but there are exceptions for great josei manga. I used to completely avoid the 'mature', 'adult', 'ecchi' and 'smut' labels. I regret that because it really limits what I can and can't read but now I don't even mind. I might miss out the great things of the manga with those labels. I disliked tragedy because it sounded sad just from the sight of it. I don't mind it too much but I get very sad when my favourite character dies. 😢

Sports -- Because I'm not really into sports, I find them to be kind of pointless, with just throwing/hitting/kicking/tossing a ball/puck/birdie around.
But then I found Prince of Tennis...and I liked it XD. Then I started to read Area no Kishi...but then I kind of...stopped reading it...I plan to get back with it, eventually.

Something that I have sort of accepted, BL. I still refuse to read it though, unless if it's by a favorite author, or if it's VERY VERY Light. [Uraboku would be an example of this, it is considered shounen-ai, but it's pretty subtle, which I'm thankful for <3. The other I've read is Boy's Next Door, and only because I'm a big fan of Kaori Yuki. And that's pretty much all in the BL category. But I still refuse to look at yaoi/yuri/shoujo-ai. I won't do it.]

Seinen/Josei -- It's not that I necessarily hated them, I just always used to read Shoujo/Shounen, so I didn't even notice them, but they're fine and all as long as I like the plot and artwork <3.
[ex. - Seinen: Bitter Virgin (oh how I love this manga), Josei: Karneval, Are You Alice?, etc...]

"Smut" - As long as it's not to bad. Black Bird, for example: I started to read this, without knowing that it was smut, but it wasn't that bad. Smut manga's like Midnight Secretary on the other hand, is a big no-no for me. I couldn't even finish it.

Hmm..

I would say Shounen-ai.
I used to hate it, but now I'm perfectly fine with it. I wouldn't read a story that is centered solely around it, but I'm fine reading manga that contains it. If anyone understands me.

I used to be completely unable to watch anime with ecchi/fanservice. I cant say that I enjoy it, per se, but I dont mind it at all. It can even add something to the manga/anime as long as its not the main focus. I just dont "like" it. I dunno if that made any sense.

I used to not like seinen but then I realized I had no basis for not liking seinen since I had never read any so I started to dabble into that genre.
I also didn't really like tragedy, but I didn't read around it like I tended to do with seinen, but after reading a few tragic manga I realized that I quite enjoyed tragic writings once in a while, when I was in the right mood and as long as the tragedy was good and wasn't stupidly tragic (The tragedy was because of silly/unnecessary reasons)

Hmm... Probably smut. I've grown to accept it and read some of it. Another one I've come to accept is BL. I've only read one due to a promise I made XD I'm not a 'fan' so to say, but I've grown to largely accept it. :3

Let's see...
I used to hate BL and I was very close-minded back in my young and naive days...But now I absolutely love reading/watching BL just as long it's not too explicit (or I'll go behind my sis's back just to read some hardcore yaoi lol.) 😉
I still don't like GL but I can accept it with an open-mind
I'm okay with ecchi as long as it's not too much. Seinen, I would occasionally read, though not much of a fan.
Smut was definitely a no-no back then, but now I would read it just as long it has a good storyline with it 🙂

Gender-bender and josei/shoujo. I still generally don't like almost all of it, but after reading a couple of the better series I can see why people do.

Shounen, seinen, and mature. I use to not be able to read those, but now it's like the only genres I read. I don't know why it took me so long to start enjoying these genres, lol 😃
