Like the title indicates, I would like to know a list of visual novels translated into English for either the PS2 or the PC. Please do not recommend any hentai games, because I already know those titles.

Thanks 😀

I know all hentai titles available in English, but that doesn't mean I have time to play them all.

I am aware of the visual novel database, but perhaps I should be more precise with what I'm asking - I would like a non-indie visual novel with official translations, and preferably not entirely filled with dialogue (e.g. have some other purpose in the game, like the Atelier series). Personally, I would prefer more PS2 titles, because I have searched extensively for PC titles, but found few that I actually like.

Brass Restoration is pretty good. It tells the story of a boy who likes music, but after a tragic accident, he loses his arm, & with it the desire to play percussion instruments. However, he just might make a comeback thanks to certain girls in his school.

The protagonist's feet are off the ground, though, & he makes quite a few references to anime titles, but I treasure it because this is the only visual novel I have finished so far (well, if the common route counts).

Hm, not sure if I understood your request 100%. Basically you want a VN that isn't all reading type but also has some other type of gameplay in it? Correct me if I'm wrong.

There's the SRPG category, from what I've read, I'd recommend:
Aselia
Tears to Tiara has sexual scenes in it, doesn't have a PS2 version.
Utawarerumono also has sexual scenes.

Maybe Sharnoth would interest you with the "gameplay" bits.

And here's a list of VNs that have a PS2 version, are translated and have no sexual scenes in them:
Click me!

Other than that, you could play with the filters on vndb, basically filter (exclude) the nukige and high sexual content tags and you'll get the VNs that aren't focused on sex scenes. Your best bet is to find a tag that interests you and start from there, there aren't a lot of visual novels with gameplay bits (they are meant to be read after all 🙂 ). Happy hunting.

While its more of an rpg the Ar Tonelico series has elements of this and VNDB lists it on their site.

AT1
AT2
AT3

The first two are for PS2 and the third one is for PS3. You do not have to play the whole series so it would be ok to play the first two and miss out on the third. They are connected but are also mostly standalone stories.
