Hey all I'm looking for manga where the basic story is basically 2 friends against the world. I was thinking something like FMAB with the Elric brothers.

Some other manga for reference are Steel Ball Run, Blast of Tempest, HxH, Code Geass. Stuff like that. I'm not really looking for power of friendship type stuff like One Piece or Fairy Tail. Those kinds of stories seem a bit too childish or empty to me. Ik One Piece isn't bad but it's not what I'm looking for at the moment.

Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction maybe? Definitely the most gutpunching friendship manga I’ve read.

Oh god its by the same guy who did Oyasumi Punpun. This is gonna hurt isn't it?

Maybe 😂 It’s grim, though it’s a different type of grimness where Oyasumi Punpun focuses on one person’s depressing life but the grimness in Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction is more related to a disillusionment in government/corporations/society as a whole. I don’t agree with all the opinions the mangaka presents but it’s a masterpiece IMO in its breadth/portrayal of human bonds/gorgeous art.
