I know nobody on this site does this, but let's just say that you actually paid for your manga. You just bought a volume and you didn't like it, but you feel like it's got potential. So what do you do? Do you buy volume two or not? Let's say you did buy volume two, and surprise surprise, it sucks. Guess what? You just threw hard earned money down the drain for what? For potential? What I'm getting at is, why do people continue on reading something they obviously don't like on the pretense that things will get better? It makes no sense. Who cares if it's free, you're wasting your time reading literal shit while you could be doing something better or more productive with your time. Do you seriously have to read ten volumes of something in order to find out if said something is good or not? A prime example of this is Tower of God. Readers can all objectively agree that the first part is trash, but that it gets better later on. My thing is, who the fuck cares? I'm not going to waste my precious time reading something I obviously don't like so I can get to the goods. I don't give a flying fuck if it gets better by volume 2. If you, the author, can't manage to impress me by volume one, then no looking back, it's on to the next.

You could make the very same statement about continuing to watch a TV show when the first three episode give you an idea of how good it may be. Or reading a book beyond the first half of it. Or continuing to watch a movie beyond the first 30 minutes.

There is nothing wrong about giving it some chance haha but to get your money back, you should definitely sell it and buy another manga that is worth your money. It is also best if you gather review before buying manga or just rent. There are also a lot available online.
