Well, Japan beat USA. Is the general consensus about women's sports the same worldwide, as in nobody cares?? I'm not a big follower of sports, especially soccer and anything women play, as I'd rather take part than watch. Then again, I am an American. 🙄 Either way, good for Japan. 😀

Are u kidding? the sports bar was the busiest it's been for lunch in a long time and there were cheers everytime the US scored. This was just leading up to the final game. We all got together and watched the final at home, and it was a huge event at our house. I was very happy for Japan, we all were. Even though I'm American, I didn't honestly care too much who won, since I liked both teams. I was just happy that it was a really good game. 😀 But where I live, it was no small thing. Women's sports are most definitely not any less important and I personally often prefer watching them more than men's sports because there's (generally) less egoism involved and more teamwork.

WC and the Olympic Games usualy get ppl interested in woman fotball in my country

the highest league have around 450-1000 ppl/match that go watch
and on the more popular teams some have a couple of 1000/match

Tennis is actually far more interesting with woman
there is actually some play involved

overall i think i like woman sports more...male tends to become extreamly obnoxious when they are good at a sport/gets shitload of money thrown at them
females atleast hide this a little better

I watched almost every game. @w@;; I was totally shocked at the penalty kicks.... but I'm still glad that Japan won. I'm always interested in world sports like the olympics, winter olympics, and men's/women's fifa. Just something about how different countries worldwide competing against each other is nice to watch. I'm never interested in national/local sports though. :s
