The only thing I remember is that someone paid this girl to pretend she was a rich girl who went missing and then returned. There was some mystery as it seems the real rich girl actually died.
Rings any bells?

Sounds like Yami no Alexandra, though iirc the girl was blackmailed rather than paid.
