Due to some requests, we have added the Harem genre to the database! This includes the traditional definition of harem and also the reverse-harem. Our current description of it is as follows:
A series involving one male character and many female characters (usually attracted to the male character). A Reverse Harem is when the genders are reversed.

If you have a better description, go ahead and post it for us in the news comments, and we'll consider changing it to yours!

Last but not least, if you know of any series that fits the Harem genre (by our definition), please edit that series to include the new genre. Thank you all for helping us complete the best manga database on the internet!

PS: This also does mean you can now filter or highlight series with the harem genre

ooh wow nice but i wish there was a genre for "ShowBiz","Music" and/or "Entertainment" for these type too! since these are not sport related. sigh. i hope one of these gets added, since i realllly like to find something related to ShowBiz or Music related series or oneshot. ^~^

Thank you for adding 'Harem' genre because its one of the genres I steer clear off and this is a good warning off. One genre which isnt actually a genre but appeals to me is younger guy, older gal-not shoutacon and pls not hentai because that turns out to be yaoi more often than not which is another genre I avoid, just a simple younger guy older woman manga...like Misty Boy, Unbalance x Unbalance, PSME, Dear Mine etc

A genre that some use but that I find lacking here is possession. Series that has ghost, spirits, poltergeists, etc. possess animals, people, inanimous objects etc. I notice you have Gender Bender as a genre but that doesn't always apply since it's not always between people of different genders. I have encountered mangas who contains possessions of various types. Heaven!! being one of them.

btw lily_kitty15, i recommend skip beat and full moon wo Sagashite (skip beat is more aimed toward teenage [very recommended!] while full moon wo sagashite is more of a childs romance ;p)

i agree, a show biz/ music filter would be nice. i also like the hentia and other such filters becaus i don't like the junk that needs to do fan service to get people to read.

the harem filter might acctually be nice if i am looking for one with a guy who is unsure about his feelings for multiple girls, but i doubt i will use it.

if the story isn't good enough to keep you interested by itself then the manga is junk
