No, never. I blame TV. Although, I pretended I believed in Santa because I enjoyed watching my parents go through the effort of trying to convince me that Santa was real. 😀

No, because my parents never lied to me about a fat old man who visits people's houses to give presents for no good reason whatsoever.

I believed when I was a kid but for a very short while, I figured out the truth pretty fast 😛

When I was smaller, I believed in him...until my family and I went Christmas shopping 🤣

but to one person you may be the world."

"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so" (from Hamlet, Wm. Shakespeare; Act II, scene ii)
(Even though the quote above is from Hamlet, I first saw it in a Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer on YouTube ^o^)
Yes, when i was small..
I hide my wish under the pilllow.
But here in my country, it never snow... so at that time, i wonder how santa would come in my place 😀
No, I never did. I always thought of him as something fake, but cool. Like Barbie. 🤣

I did believe Santa existed when I was a child. When I found out that he wasn't real it didn't change much I just continued to pretend like I did so I'd get my extra present (like most kids).
It's kind of sad but I've shattered a child's world by telling him Santa wasn't real. It's a good thing to say when a child is being a brat. 🤣
Nop, plus here on Christmas it doesn't snow. 🤣

Come on people it's christmas magic! Santa hops on his sled with his reindeers fueled with magical pellets traveling the speed of light east to west. Giving him 34hours to drop off every present! Plenty of time to do that and eat a cookie. The reason no one sees him is also explained by the fact of how fast he is going. Duh!
An instant or an eternity. Both are the same, in the passing of an instant lies the beauty of eternity.

Because I am a small man, my heart is moved by what's in front of my eyes, not by what the whole world needs.

my first wish to Santa was "Let there be snow where I live" , and since there wasn't any snow, Santa is not real. (now that I think about it, I mistook him for a fairy godmother)
plus, like Fawkes said, there was also TV to blame. my first Christmas movie denied the existence of Santa and emphasized Christmas spirit
its cold down here fam ~

I can't remember a time when I thought Santa Claus was real... it's possible that I did when I was really little and I just can't remember it. But I think that at my house (if I am remembering this right...), I was told about Saint Nicholas, the historical person, and that people tell the story of Santa who wears red and goes down chimneys in memory of St. Nicholas' generosity. I don't think my family tried to get me to believe that Santa Claus is real, probably because at Christmas time it is most important to celebrate the birth of Jesus, so that's the way it's treated at my house. Santa and presents and Rudolph and Frosty are fun too, but secondary.

No, I'm thankful that my parents never told me about santa claus. I always thought that he was just another cartoon character like Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny.

Same here.

I was taught to never believe in anything that I could not see, feel or infer logically.

i'm not a christian and have zero cultural base on the existence of santa.. so basically i never believe on a man that can travel around the world giving gifts to everyone.
but when i was teen i learn the history where santa claus legend come from trough the magic of TV.. from that moment i believe that decades ago there's a man who kind enough to share his hard earn work to kids who were not even his own. and i think the important part is not the figure but what he do.. share, give, make everyone else happy while struggling against the winter cold

Where I live it's not Santa who comes to your home on Christmas, but the "Christkind" (=the infant Jesus), often pictured as an Angel with a golden aura and hair and a white dress. But we celebrate another holiday besides Christmas which is called "Nikolaus"-Day. Like Santa, Nikolaus is an old, tall man with a long white beard and a jute sack in which keeps presents for all good children. It's celebrated on the 6th of December and you usually get your boots full of sweets and things like that. Nowadays Nikolaus is dressed in a red gown (like Santa) but traditionally he was a bishop so he was dressed in white with a bishop's cap.
The first time I remember being told about Nikolaus coming to our house I must have been about 5 years old. I clearly remember that day, because I was really really scared since Nikolaus had a grumpy old helper called "Knecht Ruprecht" who hid bad children with a birch. Isn't it mean to tell children something like that? I mean, which child is always nice and well-behaved? I even had nightmares about Knecht Ruprecht.
I'm sorry if I told you things you already knew, but I'm not sure if Nikolaus and Knecht Ruprecht are known in other countries, too, or if there's even a holiday on the 6th of December.
P.S.: Opposite to Santa, Nikolaus is rather thin and gaunt. ^^
