Oh come on, Lady Gaga has no talent. She's just another average pop idol with uninspired songs and average, at best, music. (she also ripped the intro to electric chapel from the Heideroosjes. google it, the similarity is uncanny. Not saying Heideroosjes is a good band though) The only thing she has is the shock factor of her crazy costumes, shows and stuff.

I have a little trick to determine if an artist is truly great. Ask yourself, will I, or anyone else, be listening to this in twenty or thirty years?
The greatest, most popular, artists from the 70's and 80's are still great and plenty of people listen to their music. Think The Who, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and so on.
Most popular artists from the 90's are dead and gone and most nobody listens to that crap anymore, with very few exceptions.

Also, Nickelback has no creativity or talent. If you want a good post-grunge rock band, listen to Foo Fighters. (one of those exceptions I mentioned earlier.)

As for me, anything on the radio (haven't heard of Nickelback being played on it recently).

I think she's quite talented actually. Her live voice is gorgeous and she learned how to play the piano by ear, at the age of four.
However, the autotuned, run-of-the-mill, pop music on her albums is crap. I'll admit that.
Pokerface gives me stomach ulcers. (How much repitition can a person take?)
As for the plagerism, I hate it but at least she has some original sings... (Speechless, Electric Kiss, and some others)

(Not taking offense at the Red Hot Chili Peppers hate though I love them, especially their 90s music)

Anything with the indie sound or whales fornicating kind of music like Sigur Rós.
Anything like Mariah Carey. Dad rock like Judas Priest and Deep Purple as well
as old British prog/Nostalgia Dad Rock like King Crimson, Pink Floyd and although not
progressive, Led Zeppelin. Also, power metal.
Also, all that supposedly cool crap like Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Metallica, A/CDC, Misfits.
Terrible.
Nu metal is shit as well.

I do like newer progressive stuff with some metal influences though.

Ahaha! I will always think of whales fornicating whenever I hear Sigur Rós from now on.

I don't like overly "precious" sounding music like Regina Spektor.

I also don't like really low-key, ambient music like, yes, Sigur Rós. I like catchy, memorable music, which ambient just isn't.

For the same reason I don't like ambient, I also don't usually like rap because I like for the lead signers to shut up from time to time so I can enjoy the music.

I don't like music with whiny male voices, which pretty much all of pop punk has.

I don't like Lady Gaga. People talk about how talented she is, yet the music she makes is so run of the mill and uninteresting. She may have been a childhood music prodigy, but to compare her to another childhood music prodigy, she's nowhere close to ever producing an album like "Thriller."

There's a lot of other music I don't like, but those will have me switching the radio station as fast as I can.

Sigur Ros isn't indie, and it isn't crap. It's a beautiful genre called post-rock and you guys should learn to tell the difference between good music and bad, because obviously you guys can't tell the difference between the two.

Almost any kind of music has an asthetic appeal, if you don't like it you don't like it. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's bad, it's just not for you.

The only things I qualify as bad music are the complete scum of the earth (eg: scene-core/crab-core)
Bands like: Attack! Attack!, BrokeNCYDE, The Devil Wears Prada, and almost any other band that uses auto-tuning due to a complete and utter lack of talent.
