John Mayer's pretty good.
I mean the higher pitched type....Ahh I just found out...Blink 182.... despise them. Bad Charlotte also,... major crap.
Also hate most American college bands that sing song's that go like:

Those type of rhymey shit....Barf.
Actually, I hate most mainstream rock, anyway.
Remember a band called Sugar Ray.... hate them as well.
But some cheese actually works.
Remember Supergrass with that song that goes:

If by musical history you mean Fall Out Boy, then yes they do get pretty damn close to blink. But truely I've never really been a fan of jazz, blues, classic rock or whatever you're talking about.

No, it's not that. It's just that I am a musician. I have literally listened to as many different types and genres of music that I could get my hands on, and my tastes have evolved. Blink 182 just lacks a distinct creativity inherent in many other forms of music.
That said, I don't completely hate any kind of music or musician. I will listen to every genre and find an artist that fits my taste from that genre. The only reason why I made the statement of my dislike against blink is because the people who are die hard fans of theirs don't listen to the music that influenced them, nor do they broaden their musical pallet.
And as far a Chicago, Common is from there. He pwns any other contemporary musician from there.
