[Debate] Juvenile Delinquency: Causes?
Well I was inspired by this thread http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=18317, especially by the part of the title that said "just for fun".
One of the users was slightly annoyed by that seemingly mocking expression, but in my opinion one of the causes in most environments (im not speaking about really degraded and survival-type environments, just your average city without particular "ghettos" or such) is not really "fun" but "boredom". Lets continue.
Premises: its a matter of fact that a baaaaad environment like (stereotype) Bronx could lead to early delinquency as a survival answer to a society that otherwise outcasts you. But given that this behaviour is somewhat "explained" by that type of environment, lets focus on JD in a "normal enviroment". Lately i've been reading on newspapers about even rich kids breaking the law on purpose.
So the reason I came up with is: in a normal-city environment what is the link between rich and "average/below average" kids that commit crimes?
First things first, education: no matter what your family is from, if your parents dont teach you to
respect others, or the laws, or do not have enough "power" on you, the start is always negative: you just dont care.
Apart from this, I think the most common expression of excuse the kids come up with is "we were bored" "we wanted only to have some fun". And I tell you some of them said it after LIGHTING UP homeless people that didnt do much as sleeping.
So the opinion that forms in me is that, in a "normal environment", if a kid is not educated by parents to respect others, be him rich or poor, he will go into crimes (petty or not) just to get rid of the "boredom", just to "have fun" and thus have something "exciting" that breaks his seemingly monotone life.
Boredom from lack of education and knowledge, lack of parents guidance (im not even saying "convicted parents/crime committing parents") lead our kids to "enhance" their empty lives with the help of bad deeds like robberies, harming innocent/defenseless people, destroying public property.
What are your thoughts on this matter? I think this subject deems a convo about it, cause I feel this type of things are happening more and more, lately, at all social levels (but unexpectedly with a higher percentage among "rich family" kids).

I need a die with 2 sides.
That's known as a "coin".
Oh, thanks. Too much D&D.
