eek That's right! I said it! jumps with joy

Quote from Anime News Network
The Japanese broadcaster Fuji TV announced in its Noitamina press conference on Friday that it will premiere the Usagi Drop and No. 6 programs during its late-night timeslot in July. Production I.G is producing the Usagi Drop anime. Yumi Unita's Usagi Drop manga already inspired an upcoming live-action film with award-winning actor Ken'ichi Matsuyama (Death Note, Detroit Metal City, Gantz).

In the story of the original Usagi Drop manga, 30-year-old bachelor Daikichi comes home from his grandfather's funeral to discover a little girl named Rin in his garden. Rin is the 6-year-old illegitimate daughter of Daikichi's grandfather, and Daikichi decides to take her in when no one in the family accepts the responsibility.

The manga has been running in Shodensha's Feel Young women's magazine since 2005, and Yen Press will publish the third manga volume in North America in March.

Yeah the beginning of this manga, and the portion following the timeskip in chapter 25 are completely different. I can't recommend the later portion at all..

About the latter part of the manga, I think is very good too, as the first one is! Sure, there were changes, but the mood and the thematic remains, as it is still Daikichi raising Rin. The only difference is that
Spoiler (highlight to view)
now Rin is a teenager and has different kind of worries.
However I find fascinating to see the relationships between the characters evolve on a long period of time, so I definitely like how the manga is progressing.
