Blue Exorcist Anime Green-Lit
On Saturday, the official website for Shueisha's Jump Square magazine posted the cover for the January issue, which is announcing next Saturday that a television anime adaptation of Kazue Katō's Blue Exorcist manga has been green-lit.
The supernatural manga focuses on Rin Okumura, a boy raised by a famous exorcist named Father Fujimoto. After an argument between the two, Rin discovers he is the son of Satan. Rin decides to fight his fate by joining the True Cross Academy to become an exorcist and defeat demons. However, when he draws his father's sword, it releases a dark power within him.
Katō launched the manga in Jump Square in April of 2009, and the fifth compiled book volume will ship next month. Viz Media will publish the first book volume of the manga in North America next April.

It's soon. Really soon :/
It'll be short 😔 . Wonder which production company is taking this one.
Can you imagine an imaginary menagerie manager imagining managing an imaginary menagerie?

Can't wait, love the manga.
The Bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.
Can't wait to find out who the seiyuus are! 😀

You are like the dense main character in a shoujo manga.

I'm torn between pleasure that a manga I like is getting an anime, and curiosity as to how they'll wrap it up. Ao No Exorcist is nowhere near a conclusion, nor can I see it easily being divided into seasons.

spoiler alert for anyone with hopes o f the anime being any good.
there is no end point in it yet, hell it isnt even close to a point where they could stop it with an open ending.
all you can hope is that it follows everything that the manga already has in it and make up a shitty filler end, or else worst case, they take the setting and idea and make there own shit up like what they did to to love ru s1

I'm rather apprehensive about this. I hope it doesn't turn out to be the same thing that happened to Amatsuki, which was adapted to an anime and ended on a cliffhanger because it caught up to the manga. It was only one season long(13 eps).
Couldn't they have waited until the series had reached volume 10 or something?! 🙁
gg subs included the commercial at the end of the latest episode of Star Driver. The anime will be airing April 2011. There are some pro seiyuus picked out for the show. <3

Too early??!
I love the manga and happy its having an anime but the manga is nowhere close to having a main objective/plot YET. Maybe anime will tweak it a lot which may be bad
