I'm not sure where i was supposed to put this question. hopefully this is the right section

Anywho i have noticed some people have animated gifs as their avatars. i decided to make one and upload. only thing is when i upload it, it doesn't move. i was wondering if there was a limit to the size of it or some sort of trick that i have overlooked/don't know about.

any help is appreciated. thanks for your time.

Yes it's a size limit problem. I don't know the exact numbers though.
When Manick come around he might post them...

hmm i reduced the size to like 360kb. came out weird. not hard to do it otherwise but trial and error seems annoying. do u know what area it is around? like 200 etc

yours doesn't have many frames either. hence the choppy animation

Edit- yours is 10 frames all with a .2 second lag. 🙄

mine is 38 frames, for smooth animation. and has more pixels. its a lot bigger

100x100 is the max avatar size (for now, due to size limitations of this site). If your avatar is greater than that size it will be resized (and all animation lost in the process..)

No but seriously Varna, if you want an animated pic bigger than that, for now, I might suggest using it in your sig. (But please try to keep the sig of an acceptable size too, scrolling down for an hour because of a couple of sigs in frustrating)

nay. i don't really care for spamming pages with a clunky sig image. 100 X 100 for an animated gif is fine with me. my current one is obviously bigger but it isn't animated lol

Wow deja vu....I made an avatar from the exact frame sequence you have now but it was a while ago.

btw mine is currently 108 x 78 and looks weird because of cropping to get it to work.
