Mental Illness in Characters

I absolutely adore psychological movies that deal with broken characters who are struggling to understand what is going on around them. So now a part of me is wondering if I can blend the genres together and find this sort of theme in any shounen-ai or yaoi manga. Anything to do with a character that is insane (or slowly going crazy), either it be the main character or not.
Asylum settings, mental wards, and hospitals are fascinating to me, even if it is not circulating around the unstable characters. Or it could be following someone who is out in the world, but should receive special help or even be locked up (they can also be perfectly safe). I'm really open to suggestions.
Psychotic characters are welcome for the recommendations. Any mental disorder is open, really; split personalises, depression, anxiety, amnesia, hallucinations, etc (by no means am I trying to imply that these states of mind make a person crazy, I’m just covering my personal interests). Anything to do with the mind and the tricks it can play. Yandere is also fun to read! (meaning an emotional and loving character who is unstable and just... cracks, usually in a violent way)
The manga can be fantasy or modern... or even a spiritual encounter that could be interpreted in such a way.
The only examples I can think of are Dear Myself, Loveless, and 07-Ghost (more slash) for amnesia. G-Senjou no Neko and One Night Lesson for multiple personality disorder. Kawaii Akuma for yandere. Hell, even Aijin Incubus would count because only the main character can see the demon. Houkago Hokenshitsu is not shouen-ai, nor is it really about the "mind"; It is way more spiritual, but it captures the mood I'm sort of craving.

Ok Ok... Let's see,
Sakura Gari I'm not sure if the characters I'm thinking about right now are really psychotic, but the manga is very psychological and most characters are pretty f*cked up. Historical setting.
Giglio Also very psychological, however quite short.
Shounen Zanzou Insane main character(s?). At least, what I remember from it.
I look forward to see what other people come up with. It seems an interesting subject to me, but I couldn't find anything with "real" mental diseases, only slightly deranged characters. Well, we'll see 😛
Here is yet to come a witty comment on love
