Akiko Higashimura's Tokyo Tarareba Musume (Tokyo "What If" Girls) is inspiring a live-action drama series that will premiere in January 2017. The series will air on NTV on Wednesdays.
Yuriko Yoshitaka (pictured right; live-action Gantz's Tae Kojima) will star in the series as the protagonist Rinko. Masatoshi Kato is producing the series and Yūko Matsuda is writing the scripts.
In the story, Kaori, Rinko, and Koyuki are three single women who are around 30-years-old. They didn't expect to still be single, and with the Olympics approaching, they're wondering what they can do about it.
