I loved Ohbata Takeshi's artwork in the one shots and death note but over here something is missing. I don't know why.. but the overly sketchy artwork and the distorted figures are downright untakeshi... they don't fit with his art style. I really am at a loss for words as to why this is because I really love his art work but as the newer chapters are coming the art is taking a huge hit and the quality is deteriorating.... taking a look at the recent chapter made me cringe. The gag scenes are downright horrible. What's happened to the guy 😕

I like the art in Bakuman. It makes the story look more lighthearted which I think is a great thing. Death Notes art is good for Death Note but I don't think it would fit Bakuman.

Yeah, I have to agree. Bakuman's art is subpar to Death Note's, IMO.

I still can't believe he's the artist who drew Hikaru no Go and Death note. I can see that he's trying to adjust the drawing style with the type of manga this is (i.e. lighthearted but somewhat serious at times).
