think about it?..harem is defined as two or more girls fall in love with the main character...and in TWGOK..pretty much every girl fall in love with Keima..then again the girls forgot everything after the spirit was taken away..so whats your opinion on it ?.
can this manga be considered harem series or not?..

harem consider to be two or more girls fall in love with the main character at the same time. this one is not... it's just an ark of love after another one. and the fact is that the love that they have are carefully planed by keima.
and for these feeling they have after it. IMHO is just a feeling that come cuz their live has been touch by this person... those who touch soo many live will endup being alone yet having a very happy live

what comes at the end is a huge question though... i mean what happen if all of the girls memory are somehow return. would keima endup being chased by all the girls on that school (teacher included)...?

Dunno... When I think of harem, I think of a bunch of guys/girls pursuing a single girl/guy. Classic examples being Love Hina for girls pursue guy and Ouran Host Club for vice versa.

TWOGK is a bunch of girls for one guy... But they base it after gal games where it's usually one girl per guy for each ending. Certainly, you can always target more than one girl/guy for the game, but you only get one per ending...... So I don't think it's very harem-y.

The definition does not state a specific timeframe so yes as more than two girls fall in love with him, although when you look at the latest chapter you have the new girl who has yet to have a spirit, the demons friend as well as the others when it is implied that they feelings fro him despite the mind wiping.

So yeah i tinks it a harem, just different from the norm which is good.

I would say that it is a harem.

Chapter one shows that a girl will retain her feelings after losing her memories. So, now he has 9 girls and 2 demons that like him. Sounds like a harem to me.

The whole create interaction and then turn it into love is getting a little old in my opinion. I say that eventually some of the previously possessed girls will start to fight over him to make the story more of a traditional harem.

I do not think that there is any rule for a harem other than multiple girls (2 would be a love triangle, so 3 or more). But, I guess it is all a matter of opinion.

It isn't a harem. Although there are at least 3 girls who like Keima...I don't consider that a harem. It just doesn't has a harem feeling to it. Furthermore Keima doesn't show any affection toward any girls. I mean just compare this with Rosario + Vampire and you know what I mean.

And while To Love isn't that great, it doesn't have same glaring disparities or annoyance that R+V seems to have. R+V has managed to create a new tier for horrible.

Eh, the term "harem" in manga/anime is a little loosely defined, but I'd still consider this a harem. For example visual novels sometimes promote monogamous endings while having multiple girls/guys, and are still labeled "harem" games.

And the girls don't completely forego all feelings for Keima; they usually remember him. The author also seems have some characters reappear.

Yeah, I agree...a harem is when 3 or more girls chase after the guy AT THE SAME TIME. But the story goes from girl to girl and the "captured" girls don't play a big role in the manga (yet?). Anyway at the moment I don't consider it a harem.

No, this series is close to a harem but it's not. As some of the commentors states, the main character is not pursued by the girls at the same time, they just like him, you don't see them going around confessing their feelings for Keima and on the other end, Keima is not really interested either. 😐

Everything has a price.

Basically if you want it to be a harem, then it is.

If you don't, then it's not.

Ok. I have already given my opinion, but I was reading some comments and thought of this. Let's take To Love-ru as an example of a harem (I do not care if you like it or not, but everyone can agree that it is a harem). Up until very recently, Rito has had Lala and Run going after him actively. A few other girls had feelings for him, but did not actively pursue him. Yet, the manga has always been a "harem." Just recently Momo joined in the pursuit. Making the story a harem (going by the logic that 3 or more girls have to actively pursue for a harem to exist).

The problem is that no one agrees on the definition of a harem other than perhaps a group of several girls that share feelings for the same guy. Actually, that may be the only requirement...
