Ok so my eyes are like very very dark brown and they're quite big. People usually think that they're black. I was born with black eyes like most babies and my parents thought that I would have grey eyes but I didn't inherit them. They stayed black until I was about 11 when they turned slightly brown but like barely. Now the weird thing is, is that both my parents have grey eyes. My mom's mother has light brown eyes and her father has turquoise eyes. My dad's mother has light green eyes and his father has grey eyes. How come I have very very dark brown eyes? I looked it up on google if it's possible to have brown eyes if most of your family has light eyes and it's not possible at least on the what color of eyes is your baby going to have? calculator which was I think developed by a scientist. Although some articles say that scientists still haven't understood completely how genes and eye color works so I guess it's possible but I'm still kinda feeling weird now. I know that they're my parents since I look like my mom.

Brown eyes is a dominant gene, while grey is recessive. Even if both of your parents have grey eyes, as long as either of them (probably both though) has a small trace of the brown eye gene in them, it's entirely possible for it to overpower the recessive grey eye gene and create a child with brown eyes. But don't quote me on this, I'm just repeating my vague memories of seventh grade science. And as far as I'm aware, you're correct in that there are still quite a few mysteries about this sort of thing.

Erm, I guess I'll respond to the main topic though, so I don't feel like a know-it-all ass. My eyes are brown. They've always been brown, and they're never anything but brown. Some people mistake them for black. They're incorrect. That's...about it. =P

My eyes are dark brown... and my right one has turned lighter brown since I'm losing the pigments in my eyes because of alot of sleep deprivation 🤢 but it's only noticeable if you look up really close like at least 2 inches from my face o-o.. I wish it would be more heterochromatic, though.

I have dark brown eyes...and what imp4ever said is true, at least from what I remember of my high school biology class
