I can't remember the name or what it's even about, but I do remember that a character, not the main protagonist, who was dating someone but broke up with them. She's very depressed but her mother visits and she gets a new outlook in life (she's not alone, she has the support of her family) and with the help of her mother, moves on from the person. Unfortunately, she's drinking while in the bath, falls asleep and drowns. Now that I think about it, the girl who drowned was dating another girl I think. And her mother knew and still supported her.
