I know I really shouldn't expect more from a shounen action piece, but Soi-Fon's performance in this chapter irks me to no end.

You have a massively upgraded Shunkou. You are actually able to sneak up on a Sternritter. Why the fuck is BG9 still alive?

All she had to do was use the Shikai and tap him twice on the same spot. Simple, clean and more importantly, 100% certain killed-to-dead murderdeathkill.. You know, the like of which you should be gunning for when facing an enemy like this, who have caught your faction pants down three times in a row. I wouldn't have minded if one or two Sternritters bit the dust before whipping out their Vollständig. Would have made it more ... well, realistic (Yeah, I know).

I guess I'll just have to wait 'till we get to see Mayuri pwning his assigned Sternritter to see how ownage is done right. His fabulous pimp suit in the previous chapter was a sight to behold. Doubly so since Nemu had her own adorable version of it as well.

Up until she appeared I was hoping Zaraki would show up and rape everything with his new power but no I guess we will have to wait for it

I liked this chapter. I liked that they brought back the shunkou. Good to know it wasn't forgotten. Probably didn't pull out the shiki because the longer the fight the longer tite can stretch the story out

Don't see how her shunkou evolved because she did not have her bankai...that is just stupid, I mean....she never used the damm thing!

I assume that now that she lacked a fallback when shit hit the fan, she needed something else.

Granted, it still lacks a lot of sense, but I think when reading this series one needs to lack a fully functional brain..

Well her bankai already does not make any sense, Shikai, kill in two hits, Bankai a huge motha fuckin cannon.....with no relations to the Shikai, most Shikai/Bankai have a relation to their respective forms, Renji, Byakuya, Toushiro, the doctor guy who I forgot what name was and Komamura who I almost forgot, for some reason Ichigo has less relations but still the idea is there....but probably looked like that because Tite wanted it to look cool. It just looked like her bankai was there to destroy that arrancar and for no other reason since no one else Tite wanted to use their bankai, or maybe it was because he thought it would not make sense for her not to use bankai vs yoruichi.

I think it makes a lot of sense for a shonen manga. She has had about two years to work on the shunkou. If she had just developed the whole idea of the shunkou yesterday then it wouldn't make sense for it to be perfected but she has had the time to develop it into something more than it was

She already said she perfected it after she fought Yoruichi, but the wind part of the Shunkou that she developed made little sense due to the fact that she said she managed it due to the dudes stealing her bankai, which she almost never used nor relied on.

Her bankai makes more sense then her shiki. It seems to have a bee motif going and since usually she can only use the bankai once before recharging it then it fits that motif more because when a bee stings it dies. The shiki stings as much as it wants which wouldn't fit the bee concept at all As for the size I think it is tites way of being ironic

It is the whole training after the losing battle thing. It has been done in every shonen manga since dragon ball. In the real world it makes little sense for her to specialize it to that extent in so little time but in a shonen manga it is how it usually works.

I would had bought it more if her speed increased or became able to move like a bee/fly making it hard to see her even or a different way to activate her shikai ability. It would complement her overall character, on the other hand had her shikai been power based to begin with I would be all on with the idea since it would contradict her characteristic and show why she would not rely on her shikai/bankai rather than shikai complimenting her skills more and bankai not, as it stand her Shikai is much more useful/powerful for her then her Bankai. Out of all the shikai/bankai introduced this is the only one I have noticed to have no relations to each form and contradicting the character and the basis of both the form. Also her using her bankai and getting it stolen made very little sense to begin with, it needed a lot of convincing for her to use her bankai first against the arrancar and now she used it without second though if i recall right,

I think she used it because it was a situation where she knew that she would get killed without it. If she hadn't lost it then she probably would have shown up with a powered up version of the bankai. She had to do a training montage after the first fight and without the bankai the shunkou was what was left.

I don't disagree that the bankai and shiki don't match but again I think that is tites way of making a joke and be ironic.
