Barragan is definitely dead. Flashback = dead. I prefer background story to Bleach fights anytime of the day.

Interesting though. Las Noches seems to have existed before Aizen came. The flashback itself happened recently because Gin and Tousen are wearing their Captain robes. Like 20-years recently? (Gin was Vice Captain when Renji, Kira and Hinamori were in the academy, which was some 50 years ago. And I'm pretty sure that Tousen was a Captain for at least 10 years.)

I liked how at the end they showed shots of Halibel's and Stark's face. And Aizen's back. He doesn't care about his subordinates at all, and they full realize that. They had such a sadness in their eyes. ;-;

Interesting that Barragan had apparently already become an arrancar prior to even meeting Aizen, since in his flashback he was in his released state. Aside from that, I didn't care much for this chapter.

I honestly don't see what's the point of showing flashbacks while they're dying. It just seems like an apparent attempt to get the reader to give a **** about a character, but I don't think Kubo pulls it off well.

I wonder how long ago that it was that Aizen made his debut in Hueco Mundo & how long did it take for that castle to get built.

i thought it was a pretty sweet chapter, and i agree that halibel and stark receive no love from aizen. i wonder what aizen and tousen have that binds them? fear? what about gin too?

So Barragan really was the King of Hueco Mundo. How ironic. I wonder where Stark/Lilynette was during all of this...

And now all that needs to be revealed is Aizen's start of darkness, the origin of the Hōgyoku, Which squad Isshin was a captain of, and answers to several other sub-plots that Kubo created.

Although I highly doubt Kubo even remembers those 3 unfinished subplots I listed, let alone the rest...

I'm just glad it was an espada+Aizen trio chapter. Since I don't really give a damn about any of the other characters.
